Got my books!

Published

I got my books and other supplies yesterday and wow! $800+!! There's so many, I'm so overwhelmed! Also I had to get this big duffle bag full of IV bags, cath kit and a bunch of syringes and whatnot....which cost $150! When I started A&P a year ago....I looked through the book and started having second thoughts...like what am I getting myself into! It seemed so hard! A&P was but I'm looking through all these nursing books and drug books and I'm likie holy crap!! I'm scared!! Well some good news....I finished chapter 1 in the fundementals book, lol! Ahhhhhh......:zzzzz

Thanks everyone! It's good to know that I'm not the only one freaking out, lol! I'm going to be scared for quite some time! I thank whoever started this site...it's good to come here with people going through the same things. Good luck everyone!!!

I'm not buying all the books. Too much money. The idiots guide to patho-physiology and cartoon CD' shouldn't be necessary if one has a good pathophysiology text. As for 3-2-1 calc drug calculation training tools. Math is no different because the variables are drug related. That's like $250 savings already. The APA style manual will be in the library reference section but it's pretty inexpensive and from what I hear...it's a good defensive tool :-)

For those of you, like me, who pay out of your own pocket, go to the bookstore, gather all the ISBN #'s for your required texts. Go the computer and go to booksprice.com. Here, they compare all book prices that you can rent/buy used and new from places like, Amazon, Ebay, half.com, and many, many others. I did this and save about $400. Really.

You can rent for the semester too. It's 25% of new price.

I agree with K.P.A.

I saved over $200 by ordering some of my books through other sites (some books we had to buy directly from our bookstore..bummer). I also rented some books (Microbiology text, and Human Development).. saved a ton by renting vs. buying..plus I don't have to worry about selling them after the semester is over.
