I got my books and other supplies yesterday and wow! $800+!! There's so many, I'm so overwhelmed! Also I had to get this big duffle bag full of IV bags, cath kit and a bunch of syringes and whatnot....which cost $150! When I started A&P a year ago....I looked through the book and started having second thoughts...like what am I getting myself into! It seemed so hard! A&P was but I'm looking through all these nursing books and drug books and I'm likie holy crap!! I'm scared!! Well some good news....I finished chapter 1 in the fundementals book, lol! Ahhhhhh......:zzzzz

It might be hard, long, and you might shed a few tears but it will be worth it when you have the RN, after your name

I think we are all a little nervous about how we will do in the program, but we will do as we have done...push through it with slot of hard work and determination. I had a challenging winter semester taking micro & A&P together, but I found the only way to not get overwhelmed was to tackle one thing at a time & not look at all the work as a whole, but as broken down smaller manageable tasks. As far as not suceeding...you wouldn't have made it this far if you weren't capable. I'm extremely nervous myself but I figure I have just as good a shot as anyone else.

I went ahead and bought the course manuals for pharmacology and med surg yesterday, but can't afford to get the books until we can charge to our financial aid. But a friend and I were looking at our book price list, and they're going to run us about $1000 this semester! Anyway, I already put the manuals in my binders and organizd them with tabs and all that.
I was looking ahead, trying to get a glimpse at what we will be studying, and I was overwhelmed, too! I was thinking, "what am I getting myself into??" I told my dad how I felt, and he said that he remembered that last semester (first semester of NS) I was afraid and didn't think I was going to make it through.. .and ended up doing really well. I also remember having the same feeling last fall, when I was taking A&P II and Micro (and two other classes). I think I have to have a mini "freak-out" at the begining of each semester or I just don't feel right.:chuckle

don't be nervous....we have made it this far! And from what I gather many will be around to share and help us through our stressed times.
I have to wait till Monday (the 10th) to get our books and I cannot wait. I plan to be there right at 8:30 to pick up as many used books as possible. ;-) I was really hoping to reach teachers and see how many were willing to pre post a syllabus to help with reading ahead. The last few classes I had we jumped around so much.
Best of luck everyone!!!

I have to 15.00 for my syllabus. Anyone going through something like this? From what I understand it is very long and is very detailed with assignments and such.
