Got accepted into Galen-Tampa

Hey everyone, I just got accepted into galen nursing school in tampa-st.pete area.

Would LOVE to hear from current students about their experience and things I should know.

I live in the new tampa area, will be commuting, and working part-time, and am going for my RN, havent done LPN yet.:)

I'm in "A" too...! Lisa Falcon, I'm the one with the sling..I'm not sure of anyone's name yet, this is great - not many people from our school use this site. I'll look out for you tomorrow I'm in Lab 2.

I am a Tampa native & have been an LPN for over 32 years. The honest truth - is not one soul in Tampa trusts all these new programs from these private for profit colleges (RN OR LPN) springing up throught Florida. for LPN's it has always been the Erwin/Brewster program under the auspices of hillsborough county schools..the program is accreditated and honest and has years of integrity attached to it. The state board of nursing applauds this program and many of its grads went on to become professional nurses and some have come back and taught at that program level. Florida is very leery of the RN online courses for their low grad rates, and lack of clinicals. Needless to say you could become a professional nurse for what Galen charges for the LPN courses.
