Goodwin University Spring 2021

Published

I wanted to make this for everyone applying this Spring! I attached the point guide to the post!

I just submitted my application and am waiting to sign up for my TEAS. What is everyone using to prepare? I have very bad test anxiety and horrible ADHD but have managed to make it this far with decent grades. What do you guys have for points? GPA’s? I’m really intimidated by the point system because I didn’t transfer in with 60+ credits! I read through some of the old posts for applicants and I’ve seen people being accepted with points as low as 15 so I’m crossing my fingers.

I’m in the same boat, I have two more BSN pre reqs to do. I don’t know how that program works though maybe I should ask if I don’t get into the program this semester.

If you have a bachelors degree in any subject, I think it cant science, I’m not sure, then you can apply for the Accelerated BSN program. And I believe it’s a 12 month program and you get your BSN. I don’t have my bachelors so I can’t do that. But I finish all my BSN prerequisites at the end of this semester. I’m going to do my BSN after the ADN program.

Hey ladies! Yea my advisor said by end of month because senior/priority registration is the 19th-30th....so we will still have plenty of time to register.

Me too! It’s the only way Into a good hospital! Opens many more opportunities for sure. I’m not even worried about registering....I’m worried about what I’m going to do as a single mom of a 2 1/2 year old if I get in! Luckily Goodwin is flexible with schedules

My advisor didn’t say anything about it! She knows I’m graduating this fall too!! I’m confused! Either way I hope I get in!

I’d also highly recommend finishing ALL the prerequisites before gettin in. AP 1 & 2 are hard to get an A. These courses alone took me 3 hours a day to get A’s.

Specializes in Going for RN.

Hello!

This is sort of off topic, but I was looking into getting a CNA or LPN license to work a job while in a program that has the option for a more flexible schedule. I’ve been browsing around and I only found a couple places here in CT that I can get it, but it costs $1500?!

seems a little much for a job where I won’t even make that much!

I got the informed delivery app! I have a package” coming from Goodwin coming. Hopefully it’s not a financial aid package LOL.

Try searching for patient care associate/assistant positions. Sometimes being a CNA is preferred but not required. It would probably take longer to get hired not being certified, but not impossible. Someone I know was hired as a PCA their first semester of nursing school without being certified or having any experience outside of clinical.

You have a package from Goodwin coming today?! Could it come this early?? I’m so nervous!

I bet it’s not an acceptance package! Too soon I think!

Possibly not! But I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. I didn’t get anything in the mail ? I want to call the nursing dept to see when they’ll mail out the letters. The nursing dept knows more right now than our advisors

Yes please do! Maybe they’ll tell you when/if they went out!
