Goodwin Summer 2022

Published

Hi, just looking to see if anyone else has applied to Goodwin for their nursing program this Summer? I applied for the Spring start and didn't have enough points so I'm back at it again with an extra point this time and hoping for the best.

So I emailed my advisor today about Summer registration and she said that as of right now she is not aware of when it will begin

@Raelyn1981 They just get annoyed between us all asking when we will hear about acceptance into nursing, registration, and everything else so they say they don't know....such helpful "advisors". I actually love my advisor but why is everything such a secret? we pay a lot to go here and deserve transparency ?‍♀️

I applied to two other schools also and each one lets you know it will be the beginning of April, so cool your pants until then LOL

Yeah, I mean it's good they do that. I think because Goodwin has 3 terms its just a lot more per year they have to set up which leads to some disorganization and lack of communication. I kinda wish I had gone the Community college route and if I don't get accepted into Goodwin nursing this term then I will apply to the community colleges for next term. I only applied to Goodwin but realize I should have applied other places as back up.

At least they gave you information. I’ve found that Goodwin is not transparent and is very unorganized. My advisor has changed every 2 months, and my SONIS currently has my last advisor… so I don’t even know who to contact! They should have at least given us a date or week that the letters would be mailed. They wouldn’t have to deal with us and get annoyed if they did that.

I also applied to Capital and STCC since I'm in Enfield... I'm 40 and don't want to be waiting forever so hoping one of these accepts me to start this year!

@Manda I thought about the CC route but they don’t allow students to work. I may apply to BSN programs at Central or Southern. We’ll see what happens though.

Maybe the 3 terms is why they are so disorganized but why expand a program if you can’t handle it? It just makes the school look bad.

@Lauren R yep! Exactly. My advisor is always training new advisors-probably all your advisors LOL.

@MandaMarie oh that’s a *great* sign. High turnover. No staff retention. No wonder everything is so disorganized.

hahahah, though it seems while looking through the courses, that most if not all the nursing students remain in the program throughout the entire program, so that is promising and maybe the nursing program will be very organized because if it wasn't I don't see how they'd retain their students.

also @Lauren R slim chance we will get the letters before you leave - terrible

So if you look at other threads most applicants hear back the week before registration opens for the following semester. They usually mail results the Thursday prior to registration and based on your address you will get your notification on either Friday before registration or that weekend before. I would say just stay tuned for when the date for registration is put out. I'm thinking it'll end up being Monday the 21st for registration and results will be sent next week the 17th/18th. Just based on past registration dates.
