Goodwin Summer 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, just looking to see if anyone else has applied to Goodwin for their nursing program this Summer? I applied for the Spring start and didn't have enough points so I'm back at it again with an extra point this time and hoping for the best.

I get nervous when I can't email things LOL...I worry about if it will be lost and then there is no record of it ever getting there in the first place.... I'm a worrier LOL

@Raelyn1981 me too. I like to have a paper trail. What made it worse was that the intended recipient wasn't even in the office when I dropped off the application. I was told to just leave it on her desk...... I was like WHAT?! ? But I did, and I made sure to follow up with her via email the next day to confirm receipt. There should be a database where you apply and then receive an email confirmation that your application was received. The CT Community Colleges do it that way and it is so organized. All online.

Yeah it’s weird we had to bring them in person when I handed it in I was like… that’s it? You’re not going to ask me anything?!  LOL I thought there would be a reason like maybe an interview or something. I think it was to weed people out that weren’t really qualified to apply, like it’s more effort to have to bring it in than to apply online so maybe less people apply? Also my advisor said she does not know if there will be an orientation, so I guess I’m calling the nursing dept. today!

I like the check list system with the community colleges! It's nice for us folks who just like things in writing. Good point about weeding people out...I didn't think of that but it makes sense...

I just called the nursing department and spoke to the sweetest woman, I think most of us handed our application to her, anyway, she said there’s no orientation and if they decide to have one it would be remote. She also said we will hear back in 2-3 weeks!

Nice!! It will be nice to have an answer either way and just know what direction our lives are taking and when ?

Ohhh at least that’s a little update!
I do wish they at least handed us receipts when we handed in the application.
MandaMarie, I just sent those videos! Sorry it took me so long. I’ve been working like crazy. But the whole semester is there! ?

I keep checking the registrar’s webpage to see if they’ve released the Summer registration dates but nothing yet.

Hey all,

So I just checked SONIS and I noticed a TINY difference. I’m not sure if it’s accurate or what it means, especially cause I applied to the ADN program. On my bio it says I am trying for a degree in professional studies, but when I go to the registration tab it says I am trying for a Bachelors in Science. Is anyone else’s this way or another way?

Lauren, mine is the exact same! I am also going for ADN but maybe since we have so many courses and are not considered freshman it says that?

I already have a associates of science degree maybe that's why it says bachelor, my bio has always said professional studies...not sure why. but now I can not remember what it would say when I go to register.

hmm let me look

I just looked and professional studies is a bachelor of science major so I don't think that it saying that on the registration page is indicative of if we were accepted or not sadly.
