Goodwin Summer 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, just looking to see if anyone else has applied to Goodwin for their nursing program this Summer? I applied for the Spring start and didn't have enough points so I'm back at it again with an extra point this time and hoping for the best.

I really don't know actually LOL I guess I'll just have to see where I feel led... How about you? Do you have an area of interest?

Hi guys!

I applied for the first time for Summer 2022 with 19 points. The wait is killing me since I submitted my application back in November. I hope we all get accepted! I'm in full online microbio course at Goodwin and its terrible. Is anyone else in full online micro?

I want to stick with emergency care and eventually become a flight nurse.

Woohoo! Welcome! I’m in a fully online Microbiology class with Professor Wheeler (Section O3). Who do you have?

I have Dr. Reese sec 01 this class just seems like such an after thought, there is such minimal guidance on things and im just not used to it because all my past professors have treated online as important as in person.

I saw you guys said we will hear close to when we’re picking out courses, is that around the third week of February? This wait is brutal!

Good morning, its usually 7-8 weeks into the current semester when you register for your next courses so hopefully Mid February?

I took Hybrid Micro at NCC and that’s how it was. I really struggled with it. Professor Wheeler is amazing with guidance and clear expectations. If you want help/her materials, let me know ? I’d be happy to help! Micro is definitely not a class that can be a second thought.

I wish they would at least give us a definitive date or week that the letters would mailed.

Thank you I guess we have 4-6 weeks to go then. Thank you for letting me know!

Ugh yeah I'm just trying my best, I really excelled at A+P 1+2 so this course just kinda hit me in the face, but I guess it is good preparation for the nursing program, which I know is going to be extremely difficult. Thank you for offering help. Do you know if her lectures can be accessed by students not in her course? I would love to see her lectures.

I keep checking Sonis to see if there is any hint towards acceptance, nothing sadly.

Also do you guys know if there's an orientation of any kind before the first day of nurses courses? I would love to plan a trip with my kids somewhere because if I get in I know for the next 1-2 years I'll be absorbed in school.

honestly, with 19 points I think you will definitely be accepted. Thats a really high number of points judging by previous threads ?

Hello everyone,

I have also applied for the Summer 2022 ADN program but the LPN Bridge  Version. I have 17 points and a 3.82 GPA. I applied for Spring 2021 with 15 points and didn't get in (I missed it by 1 point). So I decided to finish up my associates in Health Science this past fall which earned me 2 more points. Hopefully it's enough. I am off this semester till I hear back about the program. Fingers crossed for everyone! ?

fingers crossed!! ?

Hey!
That’s an amazing score! Good luck!!
Professor Wheeler’s lectures are on Youtube. I can see if the links work when I post them here. Let me know if that works for you or what would ?

Last I read, they are not having orientations due to COVID. That could always change, but I’m sure if you call the Nursing Dept they would be able to give a definitive answer.

(also, is anyone slightly annoyed that the Fall applicants can email their applications in?? I had to drive an hour to hand mine in!)

Hi guys!

Good luck to us all! Yes good idea I will call them and let you guys know.

I was wondering, did anyone receive a notification that their application is being reviewed?

Lauren, would you mind emailing me a link to her Youtube? My professor does not post lectures for some reason and they're really helpful for me so I'm lost without them!

Yeah I'm not sure why that all of a sudden we had to drop them off when COVID was at its like highest numbers in CT.
