Hi, just looking to see if anyone else has applied to Goodwin for their nursing program this Summer? I applied for the Spring start and didn't have enough points so I'm back at it again with an extra point this time and hoping for the best.

Hey! 
I applied for the first time to the Summer 2022 class. I’m going in with 17 points (60+ credits, 4 goodwin courses, 3.58 GPA, and an 88.4 on the TEAS). I’m also really really nervous. I feel extra anxious because I have NO idea when to expect to hear the results. 
 

What did the Spring cutoff end up being? How far off were you?

hi, 

last term I had 15 points and the cutoff was 16. I didn't have high hopes of being accepted but I still applied because why not? so this time around I have 16 points and a 3.58 also. I'm hoping for the best this time LOL. 

last time it took about a month after the application deadline to get letters in the mail. Usually they go out close to the time you start registering for classes. You should be all set though with 17 points!

You were soooooo close!! Do you feel more confident this time around? Are you currently taking any classes?

I do feel more confident because 16 has been a pretty steady cutoff in the past it seems but I kind of refuse to get my hopes up because you just never know...if everyone applies with 17 and above LOL then I'll be back  trying again for Fall LOL. 

I have all my prereqs met and I have taken most of my BA classes also so I decided to take this semester off. If I do not get accepted then I'll finish the 3 classes I need for  that. 

Are you taking classes this semester?

Oh that’s good! What classes do you have left? 

I am taking Micro and Ethics of Public Health (all online - wooohoo!) this semester. I’ve done all the other co/prerequisites for the ADN and BSN programs. 

I keep trying to figure out when Summer registration starts but I can’t find any dates!!?

I need a statistics, a communications and an english 300 at this point. Since I transferred to goodwin I have done everything online...being back in a class again will be a big change! 

Registration is usually around week 7 or 8 of the semester I think. Did you apply to any other schools or just Goodwin?

Just Goodwin, really the only local school that is a good fit. I attended NCC prenursing but they do not allow nursing students to work during the program. Unfortunately, I need to work so that nursing program is not an option.   
Have you applied elsewhere?

I applied here and since I live in Enfield at Springfield Tech....They prefer you not work but they also do not have any weekend classes or clinicals so it is possible if you can find a way to make it work...I'm really hoping to be accepted at Goodwin even though it's more money because I do not want to have to leave my job for something with more flexibility.. I've been here almost 15 years and would rather not be broke the next 2 years because of school LOL
