For nursing students what are some good choices of stethoscopes to use for nursing school and clinical rotations?
Where can you get a name tag for it or how to your label yours? Most everyone in my class bought a Littman Classic II so not only have I been warned about them "walking away" but also getting it confused w/ everyone elses.
Littmann sells an accessories package that comes with the nameplates, spare earpieces, and a CDROM with heart and lung sounds to listen to. I just got mine today! Wheee, first week of school!
Started out with a cheap double-tube steth, thinking that it wouldn't really matter, but realized very early out that it does!! It's tough enough learning the things you are supposed to be listening for without not being able to even really hear anything. My mom (God bless that woman!) got me a Littman Master Cardiology, and it's wonderful. I'm hearing things I never dreamed possible...who knew that one day I would be this excited over being able to hear crackles?!?
If you're able to, try out different steths that people in your class, clinical instructors, etc. have and see what you like best. That's how I decided to go with the Master Cardiology.
Hi,
So are you satisfied??? I am looking for a good one too.
I don't have the steth yet, I am picking it up at the buddy tea at my school. My sister is a med student and she brought me over a single tube Prestige today. Unfortunately the tea isn't until August so I'll have to wait until then to compare them.
