I am currently pretty overweight and my feet are pretty particular as to which shoes work and which do not. Anyone know of some great shoes for a big girl like me? I've tried many kinds but the few comfy ones either didn't last very long before wearing down or they had heels that were not fully covered and that doesn't work well when you have to walk backwars for any reason as they become a huge fall risk for the wearer. Thanks if any other bigger girls have some suggestions!

I too am a big girl. I am a nursing student, and work in daycare, so I am on my feet most of the day. When I can get away with it, I will wear my Croc's. they are so comfy, and my feet don't hurt as much at the end of the day. I have had good success with a brand of shoes called Ryka. I usually order them from www.qvc.com.

I like Danskos. they are very supportive.
Here, let me try the link again. If it doesnt work, just look up item number A04594 on www.qvc.com. Here it is:
aghhh! Didn't work. Oh well. If you just put the item number in on QVC they will come up. I love them. I have several pairs of Ryka's some sandals and some shoes, and they all are excellent. They have really great support, and suposedly are designed for a womens foot. I have also found that they have good arch support, especially in these shoes, which is good, because my arch tends to collapse.

I'm on the plump side myself, and i wear either Skechers or KSwiss. Very comfy for me.

Has anyone tried Propet? I noticed that they make several widths, but are a bit pricey... so I haven't dropped the cash to try a pair.
These (ryka's) do look very comfy and they are not outrageous in price. I think I am going to try them, thanks!

I too am an overweight nurse, I was researching MBT shoes and bought a pair and absolutely love them, they have been the first shoes that support my weight evenly, I have no heel pain or back pain from standing long periods of time. I also feel like they give me a better workout at the gym or when I just walk. The only bad thing about these shoes is that they are very pricey for my taste and somewhat bulky but that's because there is a lot of cushion support but I would buy them all over again if I had to. Here are a couple of links where you can find them (there are also some for men);
