Golden West College Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I was wondering if any pre-nursing students will be applying to the Golden West College ADN program this June for Spring 2020. If so, can you please share your experience as well as how many points you are applying with? Hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

Hi @KayDee90

You have a lot of points! I hope you get into the program! It will be my first time applying too. I will be taking the Teas exam next week. Quite nervous because it is worth so many points. How many points did you obtain from the teas exam if you don't mind me asking? There are so many steps and information to apply for nursing... Are you referring to any other schools?

Good Luck with the Teas! As long as you prepared, you should be fine! From the Teas, I got 25 points! I personally thought the math was the easiest (I almost got a perfect score for it), English was definitely the hardest and my worst section. As for the science, it's not too bad! Just make sure you know your systems thoroughly.

Yes, Im also applying to Santa Ana College nursing program but Golden West is my first choice. I just wanted to know how quick after we turn in our application does GWC notify you if you were accepted or not.

Congrats @KayDee90 on scoring so well on your Teas. Also, thank you for your response. I've been studying for months now and I took the sample exams. I did pretty well, I hope the questions are similar. Did you get the results of the exam right away?

I've been wondering the same, I'm not too sure when we will get notified once we submit in the application. My classmate saids by the end of October.

around october or early as end of august

Hi everyone! I just finished putting my application together to turn in next Monday once they begin to accept applications! I’m so nervous! I’ll either have 78-83 points. I took micro spring 2018 and got a B through coastline community college, and I retook it this semester through Santa Ana college and got an A. Do you guys think they’ll accept my A since it was out side of the OCC, GWC and CCC colleges? Or do you guys think they’ll only look at my first score? I really worked hard for my A this second time around. What are the points everyone else is applying with? Good luck future nurses applying as well! ?

With 80+ points you will be likely to get in. But are we allowed to retake any course if we couldnt get an A? I asked a counselor if I could retake my public speaking class since I got a C but she said no.

For science classes it does matter, but for other classes u should be fine.

Yes! I actually went in and asked a nursing counselor and she told me they’d accept my second score. When you turn in your application, you attach unofficial transcripts and you highlight all the classes that you’re using towards your points and she told me to highlight the A and not the B. ?

Hi guys! I just dropped off my application on Monday. I have 78 points total. Im excited and nervous! Best of luck to us all! Hope we all get in ?

I finally took my TEAS yesterday, and I didn't do as well as I needed to (I was hoping to at least get a 90 but got an 85). I should have either 74 points or 76 depending on whether they count my statistics class. The admissions office said they should, but you never know with these things. Based on the last few years, I don't think my points are high enough. Either way, I am dropping my application off today. Good luck to you all!
