Golden West College ADN Spring 2022

Hey everyone,

I'm starting this thread so we can support each other through the next round of applications. It's my 3rd time applying and I now have 81 points. I think it could go either way for me at GWC, but I do feel like I'm getting in somewhere no matter what. Good luck!

Morning all,
I emailed both the Nursing Office and N__ in counseling. Interestingly, the auto-reply from the Nursing Office has been updated.

Apparently, we are supposed to get notification in "mid-October." I've posted a screen shot of the email on here as well.

I know it's not what we wanted to hear, but at least we have a 'range' of time rather than unknown. I hope that helps with the anxiety, I know it helped mine. ?? If I get more precise dates from N___ I will post here as well.

IDK the reason, but I was offered a spot back in July…. Didn’t take it though. The email was unexpected since it was so early and I didn’t reply back in time

Hopefully you get in anyway. There was a lot of confusion over those emails and it looks like a few were sent 'erroneously.' Depending on your points you might still end up getting in or on the wait list. I got that email as well and responded, but I have yet to find out if I'm on 'the list' or if I received that email in error.

I got in with 77/82 points, depending if they accept my EMT certification. I got the EMT cert a week after the deadline, and I noted it in the app it would be a week late. I forwarded it fast as I could to the Nursing Office email, but I have no idea if they counted it or only took the points that was already on my app.

Speaking of which, appearantly the Nursing Office is finally responding to emails. I got this reply today:

"Hello,

Thank you for your email. We understand the confusion. The notifications will be emailed to your student email address by mid-October."

So nothing new, but at least if you have a question there is someone there to respond to it rather than getting an auto-reply.

What scale points are you using? I did my calculation and I got around 90 points

90 is a great score, congrats!

I used the Multi-Criteria guideline pdf on the GWC Nursing site, which I've also attached here.

It is practically the same as the last version, the difference is that Nursing G099 was renamed to Nursing G101 for the same 1 point.

Man oh man do I really want it to be this week. But with their track record and the 15th being this Friday, it feels like next week. ?

What time did you receive the email?? Congratulations ?? I keep refreshing my email but I haven’t gotten anything ?
