Golden West College ADN Spring 2022

Published

Hey everyone,

I'm starting this thread so we can support each other through the next round of applications. It's my 3rd time applying and I now have 81 points. I think it could go either way for me at GWC, but I do feel like I'm getting in somewhere no matter what. Good luck!

So I feel a bit sheepish. I finally decided to read the entire auto reply email GWC Nursing Office sent me when I asked if I was actually on the conditional list or not for Spring 2022. Turns out, there was an update to their usual message:

"Spring 2022 Admission: The Spring 2022 application is currently under review. Notifications for the Spring 2022 admission are scheduled to emailed out in late September 2021.

Upcoming Tentative Filing Periods:

Fall 2022 Admission - April 2022 Application Period.

Spring 2023 Admission - July 2022 Application Period.

Specific dates to come. "

I got that email on Sept 13...?

I feel bad that I did not read the entire email and post here. I'm so sorry everyone. ?‍♂️

so it just sounds like we are looking for an email sometime next week?

I hope. If they stick to that schedule. I didn't receive my Fall 2021 rejection email until August and it was supposed to happen in June. ?

No real update on whether or not I'm actually part of the Conditional Admission for Spring Cohort, but N__ from Counseling did forward me the Nursing office's response to her query about my status:

"They emailed me back with the below information.  You should have received an email from the nursing department already with the first paragraph below.

'Good afternoon,

Thank you for your message. Your application Spring 2022 Nursing Program is currently under review by the Admission Committee and Transcript Evaluators. Once this process is completed, a notification will be sent to each applicant.

Thank you for your patience with our processes.'

'FINAL Notifications are set to be sent out at the end of September. The first email was only a conditional review of possible admission. This is a new process they piloted this application cycle so apologies for any confusion. Please notify the student to be patient. We always advise students to apply to other colleges are nothing is a guarantee until background checks, drug tests, etc. are passed. Thank you for your assistance with this matter.'

There's no harm in conducting a job search as back up, but let's give them 2 more weeks before applying for jobs.  I hope this helps"

I'm going to be submitting job apps now so I can get interviewed and hired by October. Because the way things are looking, I have no idea if I got in this cycle even as a conditional admission ?‍♂️?. That way, I will have plenty of time to get the hours with an ambulance company to boost my points before the Fall 2022 app, which is tentatively in April. ?

Has anyway heard anything yet?!?! My wedding is next Saturday and I’m so anxious to find out before my wedding day LOL.

And do we know if they’ll be mailed out or emailed?

First off, congratulations! Now to business:

According to the emails I've received, we should find out at the end of this month - next week.  On what day precisely, no idea. ?

If you want to see what they said exactly, I posted both previously in this thread.

Hope that helps.

OMG I keep on checking my phone every hour just to check for that email!! I’m hoping they’ll stick to their word and have it sent by tomorrow. The anticipation is real…

I mean...technically they went with an all online application in order to make the process faster and more efficient, so hopefully that translates to being on time. But yeah, I had to post because this is painful.

^^^ This is my life right now. I tried to stick to my rule of checking my phone only 4 times, but that flew out the window since Monday ??.

I am this close to sacrificing a goat to make sure they stay on time and possibly ease the ball of stress that is my stomach right now. ?

So who here is debating on emailing the Nursing Office on Monday? ?

I'm probably going to wait until Tuesday, and then send them an email or phone call. However, since they have yet to respond to any of my calls or emails so far, I'm not sure if it'll do any good.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to send out a notification on the applications? As I posted earlier, I got a delayed response for Fall 2021, but I'm hoping I was an outlier rather than the norm.

Thanks in advance,

Kenji

I don't remember exactly, but I know that I've looked through most of the past forums and usually GWC says somewhere between 6-10 weeks after the application deadline is when notifications go out and most of the forums say they get them between 10-15 weeks.
