Hello everyone,
I am creating this forum so other pre-nursing students can gather and share helpful information regarding the application process, specifically for GWC's Fall 2022 entry. Some information I received by (staff removed name) (GWC counselor) today is that GWC's nursing program will accept the highest science grade regardless of repeats/remediation. I was worried because I took Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology all the way back in 2012-2013 when I was first starting college, and I failed a few times ? thankfully, previous failing grades will not impact your eligibility in receiving the highest points in the multi-criteria (just get those A's ?).
Additionally, she informed me that if science grades are older than the recency requirement (e.g. GWC has a 7 year recency), then schools will not consider these past grades (even if you failed, like in my case) in the application process.
This was a HUGE sigh of relief and hopefully it eases anyone else who might be in a similar situation.
p.s. (staff removed name) was referred to me by one of GWC's nursing professors. She did inform me that in the past, GWC used to average the science grades, but this is currently NOT the case (hopefully they don't change anything in the upcoming months).
Best of luck to anyone applying this cycle! ?

Hi! I was alt #14 and got my acceptance email on June 10th. So I will be attending GWC this fall ? I'm super excited to meet everyone and start this new journey in a few weeks.
Hey everyone!
Congrats to all the accepted and alternates accepted, I can't wait to see you all soon! Does anyone know if a facebook group will be made? I desperately need to find another roommate and living with someone from my cohort (or even another) would be ideal, so if anyone knows anybody... please let me know.

How many days did it take for your drug test results to be posted on the complio website?

I'm in the CNSA so you will see me at club events and even during open lab hours (I went to nearly every single one because I need repetition and sometimes I need to bash my head a few hundred times to get a concept through my very thick skull) ?.
@HopelessNurse, every semester is different depending who applies and who accepts. I know my cohort included Alternates in the teens (#14 for sure), so based on that there is a good chance! Hopefully, you get in!Alternates for my cohort were not informed until about 1 - 2 weeks after the initial groups acceptance due to Admin waiting to see who accepted or declined their admission. Also, I do know a few people in previous cohorts who didn't even know they were an alternate list, get notification that they were granted a place when they opened up. So hang in there people!
What @teee is saying is very true. I applied for 3 cycles and several schools before getting in (stupid, stupid, C in Anatomy). Don't be discourage and do not compare what your points are from last cycle to this one. It does help to improve your score, but know you aren't necessarily competing the same point average or that the point average automatically moves up X amount of points every cycle. You are competing an average of the CURRENT application pool for that Semester. Sometimes that means the average is at 86, and sometimes that means the average is 79 depending who applies with what points.
How was your first semester of the nursing program?
