I did my LPN years ago as a single working mom. At first I worked full time as a CNA, but that was too hard (tech school and 8 hour shifts meant doing both 5 days/week), So I switched and ended up bartending on Friday and Saturday nights (and made way more then as a full time CNA). My daughter was very young and went to bed quite early, giving me a chance to study at night during the week. Saturday afternoon was spent with a study group of other single parents, the kids would play together while we studied. And Sunday;s I spent at my parents with my daughter being watched and entertained by the grands, while I studied and did laundry. The support made it so much easier, but it would have been doable without. Many years later I went back and finished my RN/BSN as a single mom with four kids (3 still at home) while working full time during the online BSN. It was tough, very little time for anything other than work school and kids... but I could see the end in sight and it was worth it.
