Going to Las Vegas

World International

Published

I am a bit confused here,

I will be leaving for Las Vegas to be with my fiancee, I am a Fresh grad from Cebu via University of the Visayas.

What will I need to get a RN status in Nevada ? I called the Nevada BON and I am a bit slow with the way they speak their english there.

From what I was told I would need a CES, how can I go about getting that and where can this be availed off ?

I did a search here and could not find anything about the CES.

Please help.

thank you.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Because you are a foreign nurse it will take you several months to go through the licensure process and be eligible to sit NCLEX. CES is obtained through CGFNS and would recommend the full course by course. All information can be found here CGFNS information regarding requirements for foreign nurses to Nevada BON can be found here Nevada International requirements

More information which may help you can be found in the sticky called Primer to working in the USA

Welcome and good luck

visit the nevada board of nursing and download the aplication form. and have your school credential undergo CES which is handled by cgfns, for more information visit http://www.cgfns.org, everything is there regarding CES

The CES is Credentials Evaluation Services done by CGFNS. (it costs $378, and takes a few months to be done). Like others said, check the CGFNS website.

Also, it will be good for you to check out the website of Nevada Board of Nursing. Their requirements for foreign-trained nurses are there.

And i would suggest reading the primer for nurses who wish to work in the US by Ms. Suzanne (stickied on the International forum). A lot of helpful links are there too.

Good Luck!

*Edit: I just realized that silverdragon has already said everything I said. LOL.
