Going to be a grandfather!

I realize this post has nothing to do with anesthesia, however, I have shared the joy of being accepted to CRNA school with all of you on this board. I wanted to share something with you even more special. I just found out my wife and I are going to be grandparents. We are truly blessed. This has been a wonderful year. I think I may have to change my name to Grampa Trauma Tom. So if anyone asks if they are too old to go to CRNA school, tell them you know someone who was a grandfather when he went through school!

I must say that I envy you. My oldest, a daughter is 23 now. I can't wait to be a grandparent. It will be a joyous time. We can spoil them and send them back to their parents. What a reward for having those little ones years ago. :balloons: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I am so looking forward to getting started. I have already rented an apartment. My last day of work is May, 2. I want to take at least a month to get moved and settled, and spend some quality time with my family before I start. My daughter is expected to deliver in December. I just hope she does so over Christmas break so I can be with her for the joyous event. See you in June.

Dont be surprised though when your children tell your grandchild, "these are not the same parents who raised me,". And their right!! The good thing about grandchildren is you get to spoil them rotten while your own kids look on in frustration! Its payback time!! LOL!!
