GMU Accelerated BSN Fall 2019

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello Everyone,

I didn't see any threads for the GMU's ABSN 2019 cohort and wanted to start one. Please feel free to share your experience, journey, stats, issues, questions, and hopefully acceptance.

The GMU's website now says the BSN application is finally open, but I'm still unable to create an account to start my application. They have been experiencing some technical difficulties with their website. Very frustrating, but I'm both hopeful and excited about applying.

Best of luck to everyone applying.

Hey,

Nice to see a thread up for 2019. I ran in to a snag too with the system. Sent them an email and it was fixed last night at almost midnight. Very surprising. Nevertheless, very excited to get the application in and just be done with that part. Seems like such a small window from when they open it up and close it with a 2 week admin break in between. Wrapping up my last two prerequisites this next semester. This whole process is nerve racking. They were a bit elusive about answering the usual stats of those accepted. Just hope it's enough!

Glad to finally see Allnurses is up and running again. I couldn't log in or reply for a few weeks. I submitted my application and now the wait begins. I hope to hear from other applicants so please share your experience and/or questions in this thread and let's create a facebook group for applicants of 2019 accelerated BSN at GMU. Cheers.

Has anyone heard anything back yet? I am thinking we should be hearing about whether or not our transfer applications were accepted sometime soon? Did anyone ever make a Facebook group? I am new to All Nurses. Thanks!

Hello everyone,

My GMU transfer application was accepted 2 weeks ago and I'm now waiting for the BSN acceptance email.

@wnt2bnrs We haven't made a facebook group yet and are waiting for more people to post to this thread.

Please everybody let us know about your progress and if you heard anything from the program.

My transfer application was accepted pretty quickly. I am also waiting to hear back about nursing. Does anyone else know when they have heard back in past years? I think I saw a post where someone said they heard back on March 31st. I don't want to wait that long!!

Also, out of curiosity, where is everyone in terms of pre-reqs? I got a 93 on my HESI but I am completing several pre reqs this semester so I am a little nervous about how that will impact my acceptance.

From what I've read so far from last years' threads, acceptance emails were mailed on different dates as early as March 23rd and as late as April 7th. Hang in there.

I got 96 on the HESI and I completed all the prerequisites.

Cheers

My transfer application got accepted in about mid - late February and I’m waiting to hear back from the nursing program. I got a lower HESI (88) but I finished all my pre reqs with a pretty high GPA in them.

I am also waiting to hear back from the nursing program. I got lower on HESI but I completed all my pre req and other class with good GPA. Hoping for the best...

Congratulations on the acceptance of your transfer application and hopefully we will hear from the BSN program soon.
