Hi, just wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation in Massachusetts.
Applied to take my boards two weeks ago and says that it's in review. I emailed for an update and they just said I'm in coordinator review status and wait for processing.
Anyone with a criminal history, did you send your explanation letter and court documents when you applied? Or did you wait until you received an email asking for more information?
Earlier in the year I emailed the GMC people since I saw online that one policy said I should send the court documents before my application and another said after (annoying). They told me to apply and then wait for a letter in the mail? Has anyone gone through this in MA. I'm anxious every single day about this !

Hey! I'm in the same boat, I got an email today saying I'm in review mode or whatever. Emailed GMC liaison who said I would receive instructions via mail. Did you end up hearing from them? I think they will want notarized cori form, explanation, court docket? Not sure what exact info from court other than the docket they will want and I read something about references? Have you heard from them as far as what info/docs they want? Can you please share what they will want if you know? I already have a job and need to take NCLEX stat

Hi! But basically that's the documents they want. If you were on any probation you need a letter from your probation officer. Reference letter from supervisor and professor, your resume and a letter of explanation. Basically what you see on the mass.gov website but if it was an arrest for dui / drugs you have to send your driving record and any discharge records of treatment programs/ letter from sponsor if applicable.
I sent in all my info and They told me I have to wait for a hearing with the board of nursing and will let me know when that is. I know they have a meeting every month and the next one is next week and haven't heard anything so I'm bummed since who knows how long I'll be waiting.
It's a frustrating process. I would start gathering stuff and you can mail it now, although they won't review it until they have all the pieces. Good luck
Thank you! I'll pray for you! I'm thinking of just getting my license in another state.. I didn't see the info on Ma.gov about documents to submit waiting them to mail me the info, I don't want to send the wrong stuff but also don't have time to wait.. Do you have the sheet they sent you with the information about what documents, explanation of what references to send and all that? Any way you can upload it? ❤️
Thank you! I'm so anxious and getting headaches.
But I googled mass gmc requirements and it pops up on Google. I scrolled down and there's pdfs explaining so you can start gathering stuff.
Thank you. Why can I not find this pdf ?? have you thought about getting your NH license, I called them and they are very lenient. My friend got her license within like 2 weeks! I feel you though, I'm so anxious about this ? it's going to be OK though! ??????
I asked a professor for a reference but I haven't worked for over 8 years who else do you think I can ask for a reference?
If you send me your email maybe I can send you the link.
If you haven't worked you have to explain in your letter what you did throughout that gap.
I haven't looked into an NH license because of the commute ? wait I think I was able to upload the requirements. Hope you get them!

Thank You!!! I couldn't download it from here if you don't mind sending it to me still ?

What job are you doing while you're waiting for your license?
It's so frustrating to have to jump through more hoops and deal with this stress after nursing school. I try to remind myself that while things are still being worked out with this situation I'm still blessed to live in a free country where I have so many options to work and earn money. Life is beautiful and this will work out in time. Not worth stressing about. We just have to do everything we can and pray, and if it doesn't work out move to another state LOL.
anyone have to go to a meeting with the board of nursing!? Asked them how long that typically takes and they ignore all my emails now.. wondering if anyone has had to have a meeting with the board for a criminal record?

Any update?
Yesss, I had the help of a friend who found the compliance officers email address & he took over my case for me.
I got a meeting with BON in December and sat for my NCLEX yesterday & passed ?
A lot of stress and waiting but happy ending!
Wow that's awesome! I've been waiting, this month makes 8 months still nothing! I have literally given up! What happens when you meet with the Board? Do they give you an opportunity to speak/explain?
