GLT1 frustrated!!!!

Hi

I would like to know if anyone in the program had to take this class. I have taken 2 psych classes and a soc class and they are saying I need this as well. I feel the transcript review person is not listening to me. I am wondering if anyone had this requirement and if not what classes fulfilled the requirement. Please help.

In a nutshell: yes. It's listed on their website as a pre-requisite course.

With that being said, I can tell you from my personal experience that GLT1 (issues in behavioral science) was the only course I did not take in college. I did not want to go back to a community college just for one class, so I tested out of it (CLEP). It was challenging but it is doable. I studied for a week, then took the test and passed. It takes 2 weeks for the results to be sent to WGU though.

As I said over on the facebook page, seriously, don't stress over GLT. It's four papers, 3-5 pages each. That's it. :) I challenged having to take that class and lost, but after I took the class I felt silly I wasted all that energy. :p (I wish I had won my challenge on the anatomy lab and physiology tho - easy but teeeedious!)..

I agree. The class is one of the easiest classes I have taken.

Didn't have to take it, and all I had for my psych background was CLEP Intro to Psychology.

IIRC, you started before they started being more picky with the entry requirements - now they require quite a few courses that were not required before. This class, however, is easy and nothing worth stressing over. :) :)

is anyone currently working on there BSN with WGU? Im 6 months away from finishing my RN program from a local career school, Im currently an LVN and just discovered this school online. I was looking into UOP for my rn-BSN until reading about WGU.. Is it true, can u really finish as quickly as you can complete the work? traditional schools have never been for me so I ended up at an expensive career school to get my LVN and my RN and UOP is so expensive, WGU seems affordable and Ive always done very well with self paced learning, i'm one to get the work done in days when it should have taken weeks or months. Hows everyone's experience so far? Any advise, pro's or cons about this school? I'm kinda worried about all the paper writing I keep reading about, that's what scares me! sorry if all these questions have already been asked but I'm quite intrigued by the people who are finishing their bsn in 4, 5, 6 months!!

Yes, at WGU you can finish a class as fast as you can pass the test and/or write the paper (s). I blazed through mine in 14 weeks, but my results are not typical. As for the paper writing, yes, there are quite a few - but you get used to it. Most BSN programs will be filled with fun papers to write - and if I can do it after not writing a formal 'paper' in over 20 years, anyone can! =) I am sure UOP is also a good school, but way too pricey for me! =)
