Admissions priorities for WGU Pre-licensure
Agreed with SoonerBred - we are in the same cohort. I don't know if this helps, but here's my info: Bachelor of Arts in Art Studio GPA: 3.0 TEAS: 93% (99th percentile) No volunteer experience Technician at WGU partner hospital Expired CNA license (expired 2007) I was rejected the first time I applied. My counselor could not give me a solid reason as to why I was rejected but suggested I volunteer more or get my CNA license again. I did not do either of these. I continued to work for a year and did not make any changes to my portfolio. Just as I was getting ready to begin volunteering at a hospital (orientation date ready), I got a call from WGU that I was accepted. This was a year after my initial rejection.

WGU Pre-Licensing BSN Cedar Sinai October 2015 cohort.
I just wanted to clarify that working at Cedars does not make the acceptance criteria any less strict! I am an employee at CS (SoonerBred, you know me of course). I did not get accepted the first time I applied (October 2013 cohort) nor did I get accepted into the Pasadena cohort which was open early 2014. Took me 3 tries to get in. I also agree about the TEAS score. I scored mid-90s; don't shoot for anything less than 90% minimum. Good luck! :)

I'm here, I'm here! LOL. I'm not on Facebook; I have a fear of the lack of privacy on the internet. Even on here, I'm afraid someone at work might find me and know who I am. I must say though that I'm excited to meet everyone and I wish the time would go by faster so we can all meet, but at the same time, I get butterflies in my stomach thinking about what's to come. I'm nervous that I'll completely flunk bootcamp and not make it to clinicals. I'm nervous that my mentor won't like me, etc.

New Grad needs EKG help.
I also vote for Dale Dubin's book: Rapid Interpretation of EKG's, Sixth Edition: Dale Dubin: 9780912912066: Amazon.com: Books Maybe you can find it at your hospital/workplace's library (mine has it). Or perhaps they have other books to check out. :)

Sorry GeekkeeG, I was not clear. What I meant was that 10 are selected from the start for California. There should only be 10 of us right now (not 12), so no one will be left out unless they willingly drop out.

GeekkeeG, I asked my advisor about the 12 student acceptance and according to him, they accept 12 students everywhere but California. They accept 12 because they anticipate that about 2 students will almost always drop out due to family emergencies or wet feet. However, in California, it's so competitive that they rarely have students willingly drop out. Thus, in California, they choose 10, not 12. I hope this relieves your worry! It made me feel better, that's for sure.

I just finished my intake "interview" and I can answer a few of your questions. Our bootcamp will probably take place on the second weekend of October and our testing for that bootcamp is the following weekend! As far as the iTouch, I was told as long as we have any type of smartphone (Apple or Android), we are fine. However, the app we have to purchase is close to $300... Apparently it will be useful for us in our future careers as a resource.

WGU Pasadena
I will be applying to other schools here in Southern California but most of them have wait lists. I'm also going to try again in 6 months for the next cohort. Your counselor was able to give you the cut-off scores, while mine told me the cut-off scores were "not released" so he could not tell me what part of my application needs to be improved. I want to know so that I can improve my application and he could not help me! I wonder why there's a discrepancy between the counselors. The only thing I can think of is that I am a tech; maybe I need to be an EMT or MA or something to make my application more competitive.

I just got the call. I did not get in. The advisor couldn't even tell me why. He said average scores and grades were not released... Congrats to everyone that got in!
