Anyone else looking to get into the gloucester county college 2014 fall nursing program?

Hi! I'm applying too! i got a 90.63 over all and an 820 critical thinking. but actually it doesnt matter the overall score(theres not even a place for that in the packet to write it down) so i would say unless your scored pretty poorly on one section I wouldn't bother taking it over a 3rd time. I hear of people in the 80s getting in. However i do hear you need to do good in the sciences. How are you doing so far? i already took ap1 and am currently taking ap2 now and micro in the spring. I hear micro is very difficult so i am taking in when i have only easier classes as well. If i took it when i had this ap2 class I would have probably done poorly in one of them.

I will have an A for bio and an A in a chem class and a A for A&P1. I am taking Mico and A&P2 in the spring lol! I took Micro 1&2 at ccc 14 years ago it wasn't hard. I hope this one is the same:/ As for the Hesi my worst score was in one of the english sections it was an 83.

nice! what other classes are you taking next semester? i tried to get all my general classes done. i only have 1 more to go.i hear from nursing students that the program is soo time consuming just with the nursing lectures, lab and clinicals. and they really stressed that during the info session too.. so i couldnt imagine doing general ed. on top of that..youre probably trying to do the same thing too i bet. do you know any one else trying to get in the program? its stressful just waiting to see if youre accepted or not..i just wanna find out already. haha

If all goes well:) I will only have intro to sociology or nutrition depending on which one I take in the summer. I will take the other next summer. I will just be doing the nursing classes too!

Hi guys. I am currenlty a student in the GCC Nursing program, we are just wrapping up our first semester. As long as you meet all of the requirements that they give you, you will be accepted to the program. They will tell you that during the nursing orientation meeting. All students that apply, given that they have meet all pre-reqs will be accepted. We had over 100 students starting out. Good luck, it is definitely a lot of hard work and dedication, hope you succeed!

I would highly recommend that you get as many non-nursing courses as you can out of the way.

We literally spend close to 20-25 hours a week between case studies, homework, studying etc. I could not imagine trying to do non-nursing along with the nursing courses too. Just a suggestion!

Best of luck.

I just went to the info session last month. They told us that previous years they accepted all the qualified applicants but last year they had more applicants than they could accept and some people didn't get in

Thanks for the info cullaragh! From the sounds of it I could not imagine doing the nursing classes with others either!! And Congratulations on making it through your first semester!

The people that did not get in did not meet all of the requirements, some of the HESI scores were too low but they were told to apply anyway just in case there became openings from the waiting list. But all those that met the reqs originally were let in. There was a rather large amount of people who met he reqs so the "overflow" people didn't have spaces. I know we started the semester with about 105 students, we are now down to about 70-75 as of yesterday. But you never know...I am sure you will do great!! It is a lot of pressure, I remember the application process quite well and would certainly not want to go through that again. Geez.

awesome thanks so much for the info!

Anyone else joining us in the fall of 2014?

I'm surprised theres no one else yet! Did you hand in your portfolio yet?
