Hi everyone!

I just applied for the Spring 2024 ADN program at GCC. Just wanted to start this thread for anyone else applying!

Hello @WinniethePooh11, thanks for creating a thread! I'm applying for Spring 2024 as well, I completed the application and plan on submitting it today. Their application is really simple and easy to fill out, so that was nice. I'm taking some Summer classes right now and don't think grades will be posted until sometime in August. I'm trying to figure out if I should send the official transcripts now and then resend them when my Summer grades are posted, or if I should just order them now but select to have them on hold until Summer grades are posted. I'm afraid if I wait until Summer grades are posted, they won't receive them in time and will no longer consider my application. Good luck to you!

Hi there! This will be my first time applying at GCC. @Symphony I think you should definitely attend one of their workshops to get a question about that. Here's the link: https://www.glendale.edu/academics/academic-divisions/health-sciences-division/nursing/counseling-workshops I wouldn't want you to wait but lose your chances of getting in because they don't have any of your transcripts

Hi! Thanks for starting a thread. I looking to apply too. Does anybody know what happens if you can get a syllabus for one of the prerequisites since it was taken so long ago? I have general psych, but it's from a long time ago. ?

Good luck! Are you applying to other programs as well? This is my first time applying to ADN program too, I'm so happy to finally be done with prereqs and at the application point. Thank you, yes I'm going to attend one and ask to confirm, but I'm leaning toward just submitting all my transcripts and then resubmitting them after grades post if I have to. Thank you for sharing the link with me.

Is there any way you can email the professor and ask them if they can send you the syllabus they used. Or I believe you should be able to contact the school's admissions office and request the syllabus that was used for that class or a syllabus that's closest to the one used when you took the class. I believe admissions are supposed to hold a record of the syllabus that the professors use for a certain number of years.

Yeah, I'm applying to PCC, GCC, and Rio Hondo. I'm in the same boat. I feel you, you're almost there! I'm going to take my TEAS next week so really nervous about that. I think that's a good idea, it doesn't hurt to ask so you don't have to pay for your transcripts twice. Of course, no problem. Glad I can help!

Okay very nice, I wish you the best, hope you get in somewhere *fingers crossed* I know, the TEAS is so nerve-racking, but you're going to do great. Just keep studying, do a lot of practice questions and don't rush yourself during the exam. Read the questions 2x and eliminate the wrong answers first. Yes thank you, better to ask first because the transcript prices add up, smh! Some of them are $7.50! The only thing I'm really waiting for on my transcript is for by AS degree to post on it because its still not showing yet. All my nursing prereq grades are posted, my Summer classes are just extra classes I'm taking like pharmacology and medical terminology which some of the ADN programs give you a couple of points for having.

Did you attend a private or out of state school? If not, you don't have to provide a copy of the syllabus.

Yeah I would definitely recommend submitting all your transcripts now. It'll show any coursework in progress and you can just update them with your final grade once the class is over

Thank you so much for the suggestion, way better to be safe than sorry!

Hello everyone,

I just submitted my application. I feel so anxious because this is my first time applying for nursing program.

I pray all of us get in to a nursing program.

I am applying to a lot nursing program. I am applying to CSUN - ABSN, Pierce college, Pasadena, LA Harbor, Rio Hondo, Mt. Sac, and LAVC, LBCC (maybe), El Camino. If I do not get it in to any of these schools, I might apply to WCU or Stanbridge University
