Gilbert, AZ info please?

Published

Hi,

We are considering a move to Gilbert, AZ. Can anyone tell me about schools, neighborhoods, good/bad areas, home prices, lifestyle................anything would help.

Thanks!!!

What areas are more prone to them or are they just random??

Flash floods aren't a big deal.

You know when its raining in AZ and if it is raining in the mountains (upstream) then that water is going to flood the known low spots; washes where roads cross are danger areas...

Just stay out of them...

If you use low spots to get around all you have to do is know the 'rain-alternate' routes.

Like I said: no big deal IMHO.

Mark is right.

I've lived here my whole life and there's only been like a handful of times that we've actually had to get sandbags and had flooding in and around our house. But then again I live in Tempe. Places like Cave Creek are obviously more prone to flooding.

We have a big park across the street from the house... it is below the street (about 12 feet) and turns into a lake so we don't have to worry about flooding... :)

The Cave Creek area has a lot of washes; those are what you have to watch out for when you buy (or rent) in AZ.

We have the same thing. You are probably my neighbor! :p But no, there are a ton of parks all around that are like that, makes it nice!

:)

I don't mind being your neighbor; but, I really, *really* want to get an acceptance letter from UoA's Partnership ABSN program!

I hope you get it! When do you find out? Good luck to you, Mark!!

Interview was last Saturday.

Decisions will be made soon and then notifications will start; final notifications will be mid-March.

I wouldn't mind finding out sooner! :)

14 month program starts in June finishes following August.

Thank you!

I would trade in 90% humidity anyday!

Days here in Indiana get to be close to 100 but the humidity level is so high in the summer, you sweat sitting on the porch in the shade. So 50% humidity sounds like heaven to me!

Any history of mudslides in that area???

Hehehe, I had to laugh when I put those numbers there. I thought the exact same thing that you wrote since I used to live in St Louis and anything is better than 80-90% humidity. But, with the daily highs being over 100 degrees, even 50% is horrid.

Good luck with the program that you are trying to get into. I have never heard of that program. Do you go to school in the valley or in Tucson?

At the UA Medical Center.

Mark

Ohhh, thanks Mark.
