What are some gift ideas to get a NP preceptor? I have one more day at my spring site and i wanted to get my preceptor something and the small office staff (5 ladies including the MD who owns the practice). They have been great to me. Any ideas?

I precept NP students all the time. Some of my students give me a gift at the end of the rotation, some don't (which is totally fine as I do not exect them to). I had one student that brought donughts and coffee for me and our clinic staff. I had one make a bag of yummy snacks (pretzels, popcorn etc) and gave me a gift card to our cafeteria. The things that really touched me (more than the gifts) was the nice, heartfelt cards that some of my students have given me. It never occured to me to give a gift to my precepters (ouch! I know) at the time even though I had great experiences. I NEVER expect them to give me anything. I was surprised the first time a student gave me something. Just do something heartfelt if you feel like you should and I know they will appreciate it!
thanks guys you gave me some good ideas.

I give my preceptors a gift certificate to their fav lunch spot and a nice handwritten card. I get the office staff breakfast (Panera bagels or donuts).

I gave cards to all my preceptors. I gave a gift to only one: a book in which I had authored a chapter (not nursing related, but on a topic I thought she'd appreciate ) and silly noise-making key chains that she used to entertain/distract kids in the ER.
