GGHSON ABSN- Spring 2019

Published

Hello,

I was wondering who else is going to be applying to the Gayle Greve Hunt SON- ABSN Spring 2019.

no I didn't want to spend the extra money. I got an 82 so hopefully that Is good enough. the 200-250 makes me nervous now!

That's a great score! I think only 115-110 get interviews and then they pick from there. My friend who is in the program now said that 80 people are in the fall 2018 cohort and he said they just hired a TON of new professors so he thinks they will admit 80 or more for the spring 2019 cohort.

Did everyone write their personal statement in APA format? A few people I've talked to said they weren't told that it had to be in that format.

I did write it in APA n maybe they didn't get advised or something because she made sure to tell me and write it down on the paper they give you to take home the one that you sign acknowledging that she said all those things, and they also mentioned it at the application workshop..

Yeah (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) told me the same thing and wrote it down. I wonder if those people lost their paperwork or something and forgot about it. I don't think failing to write it that way will be a huge deal, but I could be wrong lol

Today marks four weeks! I did my paper in apa. At least I think I did. I just made sure I had the right size font, indentions, and times new Roman. Wasn't sure how else I needed to do it being that it was a personal essay with no citations.

Yeah it threw me for a loop because I've never seen anyone write a personal letter/paper in APA format and google searches weren't very helpful. I finally found a good template on Purdue's writing center website

Oh and I spoke with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) in advising yesterday and he said that emails about interviews will probably be sent out the week of the 24th or maybe even the 1st week of October

:( omg more waiting. This is going to drive me crazy lol

I know! :( I just wanna know already. I'm starting to get really nervous and anxious. I wonder how they pick who gets an interview and who doesn't

I'm guessing the more people that have applied, the longer it takes to get a response.

Yes I would assume so as well. Especially since they review applicants in a holistic manner. 200-250 applications is a lot lol
