GGHSON ABSN- Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I was wondering who else is going to be applying to the Gayle Greve Hunt SON- ABSN Spring 2019.

I hope your right, and from what I've read everyone's interview seems to depend on who interviews them. If I'm not mistaken we should here back by mid September or so?

Yes I would say the earliest we will hear something is the week of sept 12 and the latest probably around sept 26th. Hopefully it's sooner than later. I knew a lot of people that were going to apply and then ended up not applying so it seems like the pool keeps getting smaller

Really? I know it all depends on the status of everyone that applies and each year is different depending of the average of gpa and etc. To be honest with you I feel like this school takes more into consideration the student as whole person rather than just a gpa. In utep you would rank according to your phase 2 gpa so even if you had a 4.0 had great experience and attributes but you ended up with a low gpa for your phase 2 classes(patho, pharm, intro) then you wouldn't rank in. I'm glad that each school has different criteria that way different people have a hance to apply. I've been so anxious but it's kust a waiting game. Hopefully more people would join the threat in m share stats etc so we can more or less know were we are standing. Cynthia said they get between 120-160 applications n 60 seats but I've checked n the number of seats tends to change every semestre. No less than 60 for sure

Oh wow!! Last time I talked to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) she said they normally get between 200-250 applications. I hope it's not that many lol. I thought about applying to utep and epcc but my heart is reallllly set on tech. One of the things I loved about tech was how they look at each applicant as a person instead of a ranking number.

She said that? She emailed me the criteria for consideration n it said 120-160 applications which to me seemed like way too little. Yes that's what gives me hope n las I'll apply to epcc but I need to retake anatomy cuz they use anatomy 1 and 2 and biology as ranking and I have 2 b's one in anatomy 1 and biology and an a in anatomy 2

I wonder if they start with 250-200 and narrow it down to 120-160? I saw on a previous board here that they interview around 110-115 people. That's scary lol

I know I somewhere else that it was about 80 interviews. I think it all depends o feel now more people are applying before I feel not a lot of people considered Texas tech. But from what I've heard nursing colleges specially utep are rejecting more people now due to the fact that a lot of people are applying :/

I'm so nervous now :/. Is his your first time applying here? I also heard (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) say that if you were to be rejected that we could still come on for advising and let us know in what ways we can make our application stronger

Yes this is my first time. This is really my only shot at applying here I think. My husband is active duty so if I don't get in this time I'll have to wait til we move and apply to a different school :(

:/ i know what you mean I had a friend at utep who is in the military and we were so excited to start applying together but she was relocated to Georgia I believe. Hopefully you do get in and get a shot at the interview like you said a lot of people aren't that's good in interviews. I feel they are looking for a specific kind of student because of the accelerated program. I looked up some questions online for accelerated program interviews and they all look similar. It hard to know who goes in because you can have the most perfect grades and I feel they don't really make a decision until he interview. As long as you meet the min requirements I feel we all have a shot at the interview

Has anyone else received an email that your application was completed and to check your email daily for the interview?

I did after my supplemental application was complete. It also said to get an advised by a nursing counselor to make sure I have everything else complete. Is that the email you're talking about?
