Getting a 90% in TEAS V possible?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

It's so competitive out there. All schools I am applying to are point based. Better your grades or teas score the more points you get. The max is a 90% above on teas. Is it possible?

In all section too, especially reading and English

Ok so first practice test, no studying, 83% on reading and 86% on math. Not bad so far... haven't gotten to science or English yet.

Seems pretty straightforward and easy.

I'll be scheduling the teas in the next few weeks. I guess ill buy the online practice tests so I can get more practice.

I know I can ace the math. I misses 4 out of 30, two of those being that read the questions wrong

Definitely, I got a 91.7. I took the test during my last semester before nursing school, so the only science pre-req I had was Microbiology, although I was still taking 15 units and working. I studied about a week before and went through the entire ATI test book (in detail, not just skimming it). I applied what I had learned in previous classes on the Science section, which helped a lot and saved study time. I also took the practice tests in the book and one online, and thought the online was harder than the real test. On the online test I got an 86%, which made me a little nervous, especially because it was the night before the real test, so I didn't really have any more time to study! I really recommend just sticking with the ATI book and making sure you REALLY understand what is in it. You don't want to be able to answer a question just because you read the study prompt a few minutes ago, know the steps you took to get to the answer. If you do that, you will do great!

The wording on the practice tests is very close to the actual thing. The questions/answers may be different, but the setups are very similar. If you are getting high 80% on those practice exams, you'll do fine on the real thing.

Oh, and 90%+ is possible on the TEAS V. I nearly scored that well... I probably missed the 90% by a couple questions OVERALL.

That's one HUGE key thing right there. Like I said the question setups are basically the same as the real thing, so if you know how you got the right answers in the practice tests, you'll know how to solve the problems on the test.

I kept on getting 68's on the online tests. When I took the actual exam, I got an 81. I know, I know, not as impressive as these guys that have posted before me. Haha. I'm gonna retake it in a couple months. Surprisingly, I scored the lowest on reading. However it does make sense as I didn't really look over this section a lot. They do ask some random questions in the science portion that have nothing to do w/ anything.

Hi guys,

What kinds of math questions do they ask on the teas? Math is my weakest subject & I barely squeaked by in it my first time around in college. I am just now starting my prereqs so I have plenty of time to study, but the thought of the math section is already giving me anxiety!

I made a 90.5% on the TEAS on my first try. I studied for about two weeks with their review book and took the practice tests from the book. It's easier than you think. I had myself so worked up and scared and then was pleasantly surprised when I took the actual test.

yesss I got a 90.7 my cut off for max points was 91% ugh whatever....I was off by one question! Anyways I only studied the ATI book and took the online ATI practice tests along with the ones in the book. Reading and Math were the easiest for me and I HATE math like it stole my bike!

Science is the hardest part because of the physic IMO the rest was AP Bio and Chem(that sucked too!) but I got a great score on that.

Yeah I agree, The Science was my hardest section on the ATI, I only scored a 72 on the science section. I but I scored above 92 on the reading and math parts and my school only looked at the reading and math sections. so I was safe.

The math, so far is really really basic. The hardest thing in there is long division and % increase/ decrease.

It's very tedious work. A lot of adding and subtracting prices.
