Nee1202: I chose BHSN over Gateway because Gateway's program is an evenings only program. I am definitely more of a morning person so early classes, clinicals, etc would work better for me. Also BHSN offers an accelerated program. Once we get started, I want to just keep going, I don't want to have the summer off.
All the programs have their pros and cons. But for me, BHSN is now a clear choice. Plus there is something to be said for how old their program is, I think it started in the late 1800's. And once you're an RN, it really doesn't matter where you went to school, but BHSN does have a great reputation. Plus you do alot more clinical work at BHSN, then at Gateway. And I am definitely more of a hands on learner.
Which program are you leaning towards?
MarcusPaxton: I'm not sure yet. BHSON is twice as far distance wise, is more expensive, but has the accelerated program which I also would like. I heard great things about both, but am leaning more towards Bpt because of the accelerated program. I have yet to visit Bpt so I will visit and then decide. Decisions, decisions. Hard to pick!
Im not sure how many NV had. Did you get your waitlist letter with your number yet? I have heard that if you are in the top 10 on the waitlist, you can pretty much plan on getting a phone call. Numbers 10-15 still have a decent chance, but you should make a plan B. Over 15 chances are pretty slim. But again-this is an average! The applicant pool changes each year, so there could be more or less who applied and got accepted to another school that they would rather attend. This is also assuming people have the courtesy to drop their seats instead of just not showing up for day 1. I posted earlier that the information session I went to at NV this past fall, we were told that there were a bunch of people who initially accepted seats, did all of the requirements to get ready and then just didn't show up on day 1.
