Getting paid to be a fake patient

Published

Hey guys!

Yesterday, my friend and I were offered a "fake patient" job. I guess the local teaching hospital gives you a script and the med students have to dx you . At the end you have to fill out a survey on your care and the hospital pays you $50 . Hmmm, I dunno....has anyone heard of this or tried this? Let me know.....

Its like being a "secret shopper"...lol

thanks:D

Kramer and Mickey did it on "Seinfeld". Looked like a pretty good deal and an easy way to pick up some extra cash.:D

Getting paid to be a fake patient is no different than getting paid to be a nurse; what I see coming out of schools lately, coupled with the low pay, I can only surmise that nurses pretend to know what they are doing, and hospitals pretend to pay them what they are worth; perfect relationship:rolleyes:

If I was going to be a fake patient I would demand to be the one with good drugs and a call light I could ring Q15min for a little pillow fluffing. Oh, yes, and for grahm crackers and juice too please.:D

I'd do it for $50:D

It's called a "standardized patient" and our local college of nursing is using them, as well as the med school. There's at least one guy who does this for a major source of his income (I think he mostly mooches off his girlfriend though). I think it's pretty decent pay for not a lot of trouble...unless you volunteer for the prostate or gyn exams....
