Getting LPN license with a criminal record?

I'm looking into going to school to get my LPN. About 9 years ago when I was 19, I got arrested for shoplifting. It is on my record as a class b misdemeanor for theft. I was wondering if anyone or if anyone has heard of someone not being able to get their license because of their record. I would hate to invest time and money into my education if I can't even get my license because of a stupid mistake from my past.
