I am desperate and stressed out and would just like some advice/insight... I am a recent grad. I have passed my NCLEX already, received my license with no problems. When I applied for licensure I disclosed my record and they did not find it to be an issue. My record has a felony burglary charge, misdemeanor simple battery charge that were both dismissed because they should have never been charged in the first place. They are on my record, however, and that scares me. I have had the record expunged and on the FDLE website BG check it is gone, but on other checks the arrest comes up (and says dismissed), not guilty, or whatever, i can't remember exactly. Anyway, I have received my first offer at a hospital in central florida and I am terrified that I am going to get the offer taken back from the background check. Can anyone offer some advice on what to do or a success story or anything? I am not sure what BG check they use and even what will come up because I am not sure what checks it has been expunged on etc... I am so stressed I can't even think. Please help.

I would call your HR contact, tell them what you posted here. I have see nurses terminated for similar circumstances but the difference being is that they did not disclose the information, otherwise they would still be employed. The board of nursing did not feel this should impede you being a nurse, what is at hand your honesty and you need to give them a full account, good luck.
Well I have not been dishonest with them. On the application it asked if I had been convicted, plead guilty, or nolo contender, and I in fact have not. I'm just worried that they are going to be like well you were arrested for it, so too bad you aren't hired!

If you were granted an unrestricted license by the BON, then just go for the jobs.

Your arrest will appear on the hospital's employment record search.?
