Who's taking it winter 2? Have you gotten your book? Are you buying or renting?
Also, if you have taken it, any advice?
So, did you like Interventions? Seems there are many who didn't.
I really did like intervention. I was fortunate to have tested out of Health Appraisal, which may have made some difference. However, I did find the family pedigree interesting, I loved the teaching plan, and learning about Huntington's was interesting. Readability was difficult, somewhat. It is just hard to dumb some things down.
I have not really started my week 5 assignment...I've started it in my head, but that's about as far as it has gotten. I've looked up some resources, and am formulating (in my head) my care plan.Ethics, I didn't mind...only reason I did not get a higher percentage in that class was because of family health nursing. Family I found very very time consuming due to the family case study each week. I think I averaged 10 pages, typed, each week for my answers. Left very little time for ethics...but luckily it was an easy class that did not require the time commitment that family did...
I'm behind the curve I guess. Everything is done, but this paper for both Research (worst class yet!) and Gerontology. I have my headings and am pulling it all out of my head now.
After adding all of my headings (In proper APA format), my paper is already 2 pages without any "paper" written. NO WAY this is 4 to 5 pages.
Did my DB post but having trouble concentrating on the paper. Got maybe half written so far and am already wandering off to do other things like . . . posting on AN.Is everyone aware that our soon to be alma mater won the MAC and is in the NCAA tournament? Since my real alma mater (Temple) is also in the tourney - a number 5 seed - I've gotta root for the Owls though.
I guess it's time get back to the paper, but it's hard when neither your heart nor head is in it.
Go OWLS for sure!
I put that my client needs to quit smoking! And then I described her social support network and why it was important to do all she could to improve her health. I didn't really get the question so I did the usually fluff. I think this assignment was way too vague.
I thought mine was vague. I turned it in 2 days ago and I already have a grade-100%. Im glad I am done with this class. now a break and then on to 2 more......
I've now spent a considerable amount of time trying to edit my 10 pages down to the 5 page maximum. I frankly do not feel this is possible. The nursing diagnoses account for 2 pages on their own. The Analysis & Interpretation section has 8 subsections. Even with only 3-4 sentences for each (one complete paragraph for each is required per the rubric), that's another 2 pages. That leaves only one page for the introduction (required per my TA), Strengths/Weaknesses and Needs. Not realistic.
Were all of you able to slim things down to meet the 5 page max requirement?
1) Brief assessment of spiritual resources & concerns; 2) Nutrition Screening Initiative Checklist; 3) Functional performance test; 4) Katz index; 5) Family APGAR; 6) MMSE; 7) IADL; 8) Brief pain inventory.WHAT exactly are the 8 assessments - I can only see 6
Your TA may have chosen to be merciful and only use six.

I skimmed/read the chapters but plodded through it without really focusing...I thought the last quiz was a the hardest one. I went down to the last second and doubted several answers. Oh well, it's over. I sat on that paper and just had to submit it and move on. So tired of this class...Good luck, just knock it out and be done.
