We moved to the Kaiserslautern area last month, and I'm hoping to find a job when the kiddos are in school this fall.

Anyone here working a GS position at Landstuhl AMC or a clinic on Ramstein?

I also have a BS in Human Services, but prefer nursing !!

Any help/ideas on where a U.S. spouse can find employment would be appreciated. (other than the bx...LOL)

Don't know but I was born there way back when Landsthul was just a little army base hospital. The place really mushroomed. Let us know how you like it out there when you find employment.

Good luck!

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

Go to the base employment office. They have a spousal preference thing nowadays that you can use...it helps a lot! GOod luck in K-town!

I am an Air Force Reserve Nurse that was with the 40th AEs at McChord AFB. I was sent to Ramstein AFB in Germany in 1990 for Desert Storm. Germany is a beautiful country. I loved it. The base is also nice. Some of our troops were living in the dorms at Landstuhl. The BX's also have a nice selection of stuff.

Anyway, I agree with the above post. The base gives preferences to military spouses for employent. The hospital I'm sure could use some help. The base employment office could probably have some suggestions for employment. With a BS in Human Services, perhaps you could get a job as a liason the the base. Do you speak German? I'm not sure if there is a central office here in the states to apply for civil service positions. CBPO on the base may also be of some help.
