My mother has alzheimer's and she is constantly removing her ID necklace and her ID bracelet from the Alzheimer's association. Mom needs a microchip period. Both of my cats have microchips. Anyone know where I can get one for Mom too? Thanks:)

Thanks.:) Mom hasn't actually tried to wander away yet. She doesn't know her address and phone number. Since wandering is so common and Mom's alzheimer's is getting worse I figured I better get something worked out now. So many good ideas. I would love to get her a tattoo.I wonder if she would be willing to sit still for one? Yes I am wondering too about what they use when someone is on "house arrest." I do have a chain link door alarm now as Mom always opens the door to strangers.:uhoh21: I put it way up high on the door so she can't reach it. It will alarm when the door is opened so hopefully I would have time to jump out of bed or shower to go see who is at the door.

Write her name and phone number in the tags of her clothing with a sharpie.
There ARE GPS tracking devices available - they are about the size of a very thick credit card - the trick is attaching them to the person.

I actually looked into this technology to keep up with my teenagers!

What you are thinking is not impossible - and it isn't necessarily unaffordable.
Those are very interesting sites. Yes I think I will put Mom's name and phone number on her clothes. Thanks:)
