I will be applying to Georgia Regents University for Fall 2014. The application opens August 1st. I will be taking the Teas test also August 30th. Please comment if you will be applying also.

I have just learned that as long as you have all of your criteria ( Application, Application Fee, Essay, Transcripts, TEAS scores and Two letters of Recommendation) as well as a 2.80 GPA, then your file will be reviewed. Of course all of the criteria has to be submitted before February 14th.

OK great, what are y'all's GPA and TEAS scores?

When i was talking to Dr.Cook, who does the phone calls, she explained to me the process. they have meetings in the order received but im not sure what they do when slots fill up. She told me 500 people had applied and they weed that down to 150. They accept a little over that since people say they will come but don't actually end up coming.

I am assuming the rest that are qualified get weightlisted.

When you get a phone call you only get 1 week to decide if you are going or not. After they get a phone confirmation they mail out official letters.

Wow. that is not a long time to decide. I applied to other schools that do not tell us, of acceptance or not, until the first week of March. It would be nice to assess my options more than a week if I am accepted.

My Overall GPA is a 3.56 and my Science/Math GPA is a 3.68

My highest TEAS score was an 84.4%

You?

I have a 3.427 and a TEAS of 80 and a math/science of 3.3. Probably not good enough to get accepted :(

They are doing phonecalls so that the process is about 3 weeks faster than just waiting for the mail. I know Athens is usually the first full, and they will offer someone Augusta if they think Augusta is a better fit for them. I applied in September, so please be patient waiting for other waves!!

i think a week to decide is plenty of time, because that's what other programs do as well.

I understand the week to decide but I was just saying its early to force that. Seeing how most schools I have applied to do not release their decisions until March, It will be an extremely hard decision if I am accepted.

I still think that is good! This is why they have an essay and recommendation portion. Don't say that! Everyone has a chance as long as you applied! Believe in yourself!

Most programs give you 3-4 weeks actually. 7 days is so short!

At least people are finding out now and not before Christmas like was originally planned!

Are you all sure that she doesn't mean that you have a week to make a decision on the campus they are offering you? Because when I was called I believe she said that to hold my spot I must send in my deposit before a certain date. (which was not a week) I will not even receive my acceptance letter for another week or two so there no possible way to accept their offer until then.

I may be completely wrong, but that is just my take on it!

oh hmm im not sure because you are right, you send in your deposit after you get the letter but the way she sounded on the phone was that they wouldn't send a letter unless you said yes you were coming...but i mean you could always just say yes you are coming and then not send in deposit and they can't really hold it against you right?
