Hello,
Has anyone applied to Georgia Perimeter College nursing program for Spring 2011?
If so, how well did you do on the TEAS exam. I know this is the first they will be requiring the TEAS exam.
I have applied and decided to get a thread going up until we start receiving acceptance letters.
I believe we should start seeing some acceptance letters coming mid July.
And has any who applied to any other programs?

I applied to GPC for Spring 2011. Just took the TEAS V two weeks ago and scored 88% Individual Score. I have an undergrad Business degree 1995 from UNC Chapel Hill (3.25 GPA overall). I've completed two science pre-reqs A&P1 and Micro and have a 4.0 in those two. I'm currently enrolled in A&PII. Will post again if if receive any info. Thanks for starting the thread.

I applied for Spring. The letter I received after my TEAS said that decisions will be sent out by Sep 30th. You might hear something before that but I doubt it since they are still testing. I know some people that are scheduled to take their TEAS in Aug so I suppose that they will finish testing before sending out letters. Good luck to everyone.
No problem
I'm finished with all my prereqs and earned good grades. My TEAS score is low but I'm hoping for the best.
I received that letter as well but last year they came a lot earlier than September. Like you said since some students will still be taking the TEAS in august I really doubt that they will send the letters any time soon,
So we'll have to wait a little while longer...

Can you give us any ideas on what we can expect to see on the TEAS V? I heard it was harder than TEAS IV. Thanks:yeah:
I never took Teas IV, so not sure of the difference, but I thought the TEAS V was not that difficult, especially the math. I studied two guides: The Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exams and The McGraw Hill nursing School Entrance Exams. I read both books from front to back and I took every practice test in the book. Know your rules for grammar and math as recommended in the study guides. There's not much you can do for reading except practice. I got lucky on the science portion. I have not taken Chemistry outside of high school and have never taken physics. I think if you can really learn everything in the study guides that you will fair well on the TEAS V. I also took a practice TEAS V on the ati site the day before my actual exam which helped me see how I might score. I did better on the actual exam than the practice. I hope this is helpful!
To me its the same test and it is not that hard if you studied the study guide very very well. There are a few things that they added to the science and math questions but nothing major. I can't remember exactly what they were.
Good luck on your test
Thank you for the information!! :)
I thought the deadline for applying for Spring 2011 was May 15, 2010. How can people who are still testing be allowed to apply?? That does not seem correct.
GPC.com's website says the deadline is May 15th for Spring semester. I went to an information session and that sheet says the deadline is June 15th for spring semester. The process for application on the gpc.com/nursing site says you apply, then wait to be asked to sit for the TEAS once they deem you meet the minimum qualifications. After all this, it ends up being end of July before they have all their candidates w/ TEAS scores back. Then they need a month or so to evaluate, I guess.
It was but when you apply, they send you a letter in the mail with testing dates to come take the test at GPC
