Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

I'm sure the VP being out on vacation slowed down the process.

aww.. i really like cw too.. She was telling me that its ok, and not to worry b/c everything works out the way it does for a reason, and when i said "aww c'mon.. you cant just tell me...ha ha ha" she laughed and said 'no sweetheart, i'm sorry.' SO i guess its whatever \.. i give up on worrying about it.. kinda..

p.s. i'm really leaving now.. lol my boyfriend keeps yelling at me to get off the computer and help pack the car lol Bye girlies!! I'll miss you :)

ok, I'm confused about this whole background check thing... you had to have a background check to register at orientation. A background check is a background check isn't it? I mean, what are they expecting to find that hasn't already been found, assuming there is anything to be found. Did that make sense??

Also, I agree, background checks usually take 3 days at the most. My husband and I have had many background checks for Real Estate stuff over the years and they were always ready within 2-3 days.

Anyway, BG checks sounds like an excuse to me. If they were all applied for at the same time, they should all come back at the same time.

I had emailed He### S. and she forwarded it to Ca*** W. and she just said that they are almost ready to announce the awards. She said that she completed the scoring and is awaiting HR to complete background checks. ......Sorry, no real news, I just thought that I would let you know. She then said that as soon as that is completed, she will be in touch and she knows its hard waiting and thanks for my patience........

Hey guys!!! Just checking up on everything I have missed today!!! I went to GHC and got all my books!!! I had to wheel them to my car in a cart, b/c they were so freaking heavy!!! I can't take much more of this waiting!! It's killimg me!! I had to purchase my stethoscope at Lynn's, but I go a real cute pink one!!

maybe they only did the background checks on the 28 people they chose and so they had to wait til Monday to submit the BG checks. If they put them in monday, and it takes 72 hours to get them back they should have all the BGC's by tomorrow.

I just tried to call CW to see if I could find out anymore info, but I got voice mail!!

I received a vm from CW basically saying the same info (as above) but to make sure I passed on that she is VERY appreciative for all our patience and knows it is difficult waiting to find out our location. But "it should not be much longer"....

So everyone, tomorrow we get to do this all over again :bugeyes:

Here's a thought on the background checks - they are for WellStar...meaning you have to have this particular one from Precheck - separate from the one just for the GHC nursing program, right? So what about the 12 people who don't get the scholarship, but get to go to WellStar anyways? Won't they have to have already had the Precheck background check, and not just the one that GHC ran? That means that opening up those 12 spaces to anyone who put her name on a list won't work, since they haven't had the appropriate check. They will have to choose the 12 from those who applied for the sholarship but did not get it. Thoughts?

I agree with you Hayley, except for the fact that Dr R never answered my email from last week. I asked her (very respectfully) if the students that went through interviews, recommendations letters, essays, and the assessment testing had an preference as to the location they wanted-assumining they didn't get the scholarship. I said that I put my name on a lottery list in the office and was that because the marietta location was to be opened up to all students. I really thought it would have been easy to just answer yes, there was a lottery and everyone (outside of those with the scholarship) would have the same chance of getting Marietta; or no, those of us who went through the process would have first choice. I'm still hoping that we have priority - it seems only fair...but who knows.

That is a good thought Hayley. But I dont think they will do a background check on the 12 that dont get scholarships. I think they are doing background checks b/c we will be working for Wellstar after we graduate. the other 12 are simply just taking their classes there. Hopefully I am wrong
