Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:
Just wanted to let you guys know that I have set up my interview time for next week - she called me this morning. My charges aren't showing up yet in SCORE - how much was the total? I am also trying to figure out how much I'll have left over for books. Thanks!
I believe my total was around $1400, but that included the charge for student health insurance that will be coming off.
Melissa, mine says that too...
Starr...you wanna do breakfast with us the morning of orientation?
I sent Dr. Br*ck an email asking which books she will use for Fundamentals, after I explained that I wasn't going to try to buy all of them up front. (I was going to buy the ones that we would use for that particular semester at the beginning of each semester.) She sent me an email back saying that we would use all of them. :smackingf
(She did include a side note in her email that said not to purchase the recommended or bookstore recommended stuff.)
Melissa, what schedule did you print from the GA highlands page? I printed the student detail schedule and it shows all of the instructors. I also printed the student schedule and charges and it shows only foundations of nursing practice with Br*ck. I do not see where it shows fundamentals. Would you please walk me through which schedule you printed? Thanks!
Thanks for the info - I am glad she said not to bother with the recommended stuff. I am going to have to pack up the things on my bookshelf at home just for my nursing things!
By the way - back to the stethoscope topic, I bought a Littmann Cardiolite II (I work for a cardiologist, and most of our nurses use Littmann) and I can hear very well out of it. I got it on Amazon.com with free shipping for under $50.
I did some research on some possible interview questions, and just wanted to pass along what I found - I know most of us will be very nervous:
What are your best (and worst) qualities? Why? How are you working to change the worst qualities?
Why did you choose this program? Did you apply to others? Were you accepted?
How would friends describe you? How does this compare with how you would describe yourself?
Do you have any concerns about the program? What are they and why?
What is the most difficult thing you've ever done? Why?
What attracts you to nursing? What do you find unappealing about nursing?
How do you handle stress? Do you feel like you live a high-stress life?
Why do you want to be a Nurse?
Will you be working, etc. while in the program?
What are your strenghts/weaknesses?
When is one time you've broken the rules at work and why?
How do you handle difficult situations?
What type of qualities do you possess that would make you a good nurse?
Describe a situation where you showed compassion and sympathy for another individual.
Describe a situation where you were on a tight deadline and how did you handle it.
What is your worst characteristic?
What is your best quality?
Is there any characteristic you would change, have you tried changing it?
What do you think a nurse does?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
