Georgia Highlands College Waiting Game!

U.S.A. Georgia

Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

you guys are only separated into two sections. the marietta group (25 ppl) and the rest of you in one big cafeteria. when you go to register...all you do is bring them your immunizations, cpr card and everything else they asked of you, and dr. rees simply says ok your ready to go. she hand puts you in the computer. so if you find out after "registration" that your in the marietta group, dr. rees does it herself. you dont ever get to register yourself as you have for other classes. The only other thing i can think of. they break you down into, i guess like 5-10 small groups based on last names, with advisors. the advisor is who you go to for test review and any questions you may have. if theyre is a day where you have lab in class(which is a joke). they break you down into your Advisement groups and just rotate you around the cafeteria and building. other than that, you all will stay together.

That is changing, according to Dr. R**s...

I spoke with Dr. R**s about the incoming first semester nursing students, and she said that we would be separated into sections (nothing to do with the Marietta students). She said that they had just decided to start this, along with the second semester students. One of the sections would be Mon-Thurs and off on Fridays and the other section... she had not finalized the schedule yet.

well thats good for you guys if thats true, its really hard doing it as one large classroom. however, the group we had was mon-thur, and weve always been off on fridays, so it doesnt sound like its changing that much. either way, shes going to hand-register all of you. if not, people who had not finished all of their criteria such as cpr cards, could register themselves. the only bad thing would be some of yall might get broken up. BUT bc i know what candiadates they look for at the marietta program, im almost 95% positive you all will be there, and together. stop sweating it, you guys need a breather before it starts.

Thanks prern ashley. I am gonna take your advice and chill and enjoy the weekend w/the family. Happy July 4th everyone!!!*wine

Happy 4th of July everybody!!

Goodmorning everyone! I am still soo excited that this is finally happening.. It's official, we are all nursing students fall 2009!!!! :anpom: I wanted to see if anyone has bought uniforms , textbooks, supplies, or anything yet??? I already warned my family about how demading this is going to be. I am grateful for all of the posts on how tough the program is b/c it gives me a reality check......"We are in the calm before the storm". Yikes! :nurse:

I have bought uniforms, but nothing else yet. I'm trying to wait until orientation before I buy anything....which is going to be soooo hard because I'm so excited. I just want to rush out and buy everything now!

I went to get school supplies for my children this weekend, and I had to choke back the urge to go ahead and buy a bunch of stuff. I'll eventually have to buy SOMETHING before orientation to keep myself from going crazy.

I'm going for my second TB shot today! I do believe I'm tired of being poked on now. lol After I get my TB spot checked on Wednesday, all of my paperwork for registration will be in order. YAY!!!!

I hope you are right and that it won't change, because I was really looking forward to a Monday thru Thursday schedule.

Nobody flame me for saying this........BUT.....I know you guys are applying for the Marietta program (and it is probably closer and more convenient for ya'll) but I really hope we all get to stay together. I'm rootin' for you until then though! :w00t: By the way, when will ya'll know who is and who is not accepted to the Marietta program? Surely before orientation?

I have no idea when we will find out. I, actually, live in Rockmart so I will have about a hour drive (rome would only be about a 25 minute drive). But, I was thinking about it and figured it would be cheaper to pay for gas than tuition, books, uniforms, etc...

I do wish we were all together though!!!
