Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:

I have received my first two Hep B vaccinations. Buuuuuut.....I was not aware that we were supposed to get a "stacked" TB test. So, I went ahead and got my TB test a couple of months ago, only to find out I would have to do it again. :uhoh21:
I am also scheduled for my CPR certification a week from today. I'm so excited!

I have already had the three series of hepatitis B vaccinations and the TB test. Once I find out that I am accepted, I am going to get CPR certified. Since they are taking so long to send out the letters, I should probably go ahead and get certified.

How long does it take to get CPR certified? I need to get that done. I've already gotten the tb test and hep vacc. & I finally got my financial aid straightened out.

dallas - I am getting certified this Sat at Wellstar's Heath Place, near Kennestone Hospital. The class runs from 9-3, with a lunch break. If you are renewing your CPR, you can take a class at Wellstar that runs from 9-1 on another date. My class costs $55 for pre-nursing students. If you are interested in joining the class for this Sat you can call Wellstar at 770-956-7827 to register. There is also another date in early August -they're very helpful at Wellstar.
Thanks for the info tns. I will think it over. I would have to have my hubbie watch all three kiddies and that sorts of scares me. Jk. I would feel better having my mom do it but she is out of town.
I just called the number for cpr and they were very nice. She said that there wouldn't be charge since I volunteer. The Sat class was filled but she said there was a class on June 22. The bad news is that it's on Windy Hill.
For any of you all that are interested, there will be a CPR class in Rome on June 23rd from 9-1. I believe the charge is $45 and the class will be held on the Coosa Valley Technical College Campus. There is a limited number of people that they will allow per class.
I just thought I would share a freak-out moment I just had. There was a knock at my door and I told my son to grab it b/c he is expecting a neighborhood friend over. He yelled, "Mom it's for you, it's the mail lady!" I darted to the front door to see the mail lady standing there with a handful of mail and a package. She said that the package was to big for the mailbox along w/the other mail. I looked and it was just a book that my dad had mailed my son. Ha! I told her that I am waiting on a special letter and she said "from where?" I told her Ga Highlands, and she said that hopefully she would be bringing that next time.:wink2:
I totally know that feeling. It's a bummer to realize you just got worked up over nothing. I LOVE the excitement of the letter, I just don't like the WAIT part. lol
Dallas, I would die!! I agree that's a total bummer.
here are some other people (associated with KSU nursing) that offer CPR classes for incoming nursing students (don't have to be in KSU nursing). I don't know the cost or location.

You know that movie Men In Black? I wish somebody would flash me with one of those little "make you forget thingies" so that I could stop obsessing over this daggum letter! lol
