GGC admits nursing students every Fall and Spring semester, about ~32 students per semester. Check their website for deadlines to apply.

Thank you so much: )

Hi All!
I've started stalking other GGC posts and am hoping for a little info so you might see this message a couple of times if you are part of other threads ? . I got accepted into the GGC Spring 2023 program and am wondering what your thoughts are on the program. I'm trying to decide between GGC and GSU downtown (pending acceptance/denial). Thanks so much for any input or tips!

First, congratulations on your acceptance. I would honestly recommend you stick with the lower cost and smaller program at GGC. It’s actually nice to be known by your professors and instructors and to know that they truly care for their students. Most Nursing programs at larger schools tend to have 100+ students in large lecture halls and you are hardly ever known by all your professors. It helps to have that small class size and to actually know that your professors will meet you where you are and help you as needed. You’re not just a number and exam score to them.

At the end of the day, a nurse is a nurse regardless of where you studied. I know many students who went to larger schools like Emory and paid like 20-25k for one semester of Nursing school. I teach now as a clinical instructor for Emory and have heard these same students say they wish they could have gone to a smaller school, such as GGC. The BSN you get at GGC will be just as good as a BSN at any other school. This isn’t to knock GSU, but I’d consider larger schools like that later on if you plan to go to graduate school. Definitely do what you think is best and financially responsible! Best of luck!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the advice!

@FutureRNToya you said you withdrew your GGC application after talking to the department. Do you mind me asking why? Like what they said? Also did you get in when you applied in January. I applied for Fall 2023 and I'm going crazy waiting to hear if I got in or not.

It can be tough waiting, but just give it some time. Back when I applied for Fall 2016, they mailed acceptance letters to our home, as well as emailed us an electronic copy. I'll share that I got waitlisted and had 2 people in front of me, which was very nerve-racking. Thankfully, both of them backed out and I was offered acceptance in late April. Best of luck to you! Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the program itself!
