Published

Hey, just wanted to start a thread to see who else is applying for Fall 2020 and what your GPA/TEAS scores/other application stuff is like!

I applied with a 3.2 overall, 4.0 science, 87 on the TEAS, and 108 volunteer hours.

So IDK what to do .
Hopefully you guys can advice me.
I got accepted Into my gsu ADN program . And ggc BSN program .
What would you guys do?

How exciting and CONGRATS! I also plan to apply to GSU ADN AND BSN in the fall but if GGC were to accept me, it would be my first choice. GGC for sure!

First of all way to go! Next you have to think about what you want. There is definitely difference. ADN is a nurse and you will get hired; however, some hospitals will say they eventually want you to get your BSN. Also GGC is very economical. My tuition will be $3,521 (Tuition, Lab and program fee) for the semester for 15 credits. IDK how many credits GSU perimeter is.

OK I just looked it up GSU Associates is 28 credits, and $298 per credit. It's 3 semesters or 12, 7, and then 9 credits. Total: $8352.01

GGC Bachelors is 60 credits, and $133 per credit. 4 semesters and 15 credits per semester. Total: $14,084.

I just graduated from GGC Nursing and highly highly recommend it. As far as your personal situation, you need to consider why you would be taking an ADN over a BSN. for me, when I considered it, it was because I wanted to get into the hospital and working faster, but it was almost the same length of time to get the ADN as the BSN once I took pre-reqs into account. Also, think about how much additional you might pay when you go to bridge your RN to BSN, because most hospitals in GA are wanting BSNs more and more. If you are able to do the BSN, why wouldn't you go ahead and get it done?

I chose GGC initially because it was less expensive and it was close. Now, I tell everyone to choose GGC because the school and faculty are amazing. They are not admitting students just to weed them out, they're not the kind of program to let you in and then makes you fend for yourself. The professors get to know you and care for each of their students. The school is small but mighty, they have lots of connections around Atlanta. I tell people all the time that if I hadn't gotten in the first time, and I know what I know now, I'd have waited a long time to go to GGC. Almost everyone I graduated with had a job before graduation, and many classes before me were the same. We also have a fantastic NCLEX pass rate as well.

I really think I’m just gonna go ahead and go for ggc. Bc It’s very close to me. And because the classes are so small.
I hope I can get to know you guys.

I’m glad you decided. I have already save my spot and paid the fee. Nursing Dep have already impressed me. They respond quickly to my emails and give actual solutions. See you fall 2020!

Hey! I applied with a 3.52 overall, 3.6 science, a 75 on the TEAS, and only 30 volunteer hours. I'm hoping my TEAS and volunteer hours don't hurt my application.

Did you end up getting accepted?
