Hey! Just wanted to start a forum for anybody applying to this program for fall 2018. I have everything turned in and I'm just waiting for it all to process on the portal. I retook some science course after I dropped out of school for three years but managed to repeat all my classes with an a so my science gpa is looking like a 3.7 but it will be a 2.9 if it is averaged but I am not sure. I have 400 hours of volunteer service. 2 years of CNA experience. 1 year of managent experience ans I got an 85.3 on my teas first try. Feel free to share your stats or your anticipation! If I'm accepted I also would like to know my future colleagues :)
@beckyyy (is that how I reply to a comment?) haha. I have no idea how to work this thing. Anyway, I really think I emailed them like 10 times over the course of the last six months. And especially after I went under review. They always got back to me right away with an update. That said, they first told me two weeks and it was actually three. So, I was really bummed at that two week mark when I didn't have a decision. I usually sent a really polite email asking about some other question and then added on a little "do you have any updates on when I should expect a decision regarding my application?" HA! She always responded. I am just glad to be over this hurdle. Don't worry, you applied after I did so you may have a little more time to wait. Good luck! (If I were you I'd email them now! unless you just did like yesterday, and in that case, don't. LOL)
I'm IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just checked the portal and it says "decision made" and under that, "conditionally accepted" (gotta make at least C's in A&PII, Micro, and Nutrition)!!!! Oh my goodness I am thrilled and cannot wait to meet you all in the fall! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting! Don't worry about how long it's taking - I was under review for 31 days!My stats:
Overall GPA: 3.4 or 3.5 (not sure what transferred and how they calculated it)
Science GPA: 4.0 (but taking A&PII & Micro now)
TEAS: 84.7
I have a prior bachelors degree in Anthropology from 100 years ago. HA. And NO healthcare experience or even healthcare related volunteer work.
Good luck everyone! And congratulations to all who have recently gotten in!
Congratulations!!!!! See you in the fall!! 🙌ðŸ»
Hello everyone im a student at CTC right now and looking to apply to mercer in the future. Im a 4.0 student and really focused in school, my question to y'all is if mercer is worth the money. Im taking 5 classes each semester so I don't really make a lot of money and don't know how the financial cost will look after financial aid and scholarships. Can you guys give me an estimate on what your paying a semester. pls and thank you
It looks like it's about $12k a semester, maybe a little more. The cost is definitely an issue. But in town, there are really only three options for the BSN: Emory, Mercer, and GSU. They all have excellent reputations. Emory is of course the most expensive, Mercer is in between, and GSU, being the cheapest, is also super competitive to get into as far as I know. I loved the close knit atmosphere of Mercer, and that it was somewhat affordable (about half as much as Emory). Good luck!
Hey guys! I'm currently in the initial stages of the application process and have a quick question. When submitting the application, under the last 'Requirements' step, it has an option to Attach File, and it says Personal Statement right above it. Are we supposed to upload a personal statement? Or a resume?
Also, if you have hours of community service, do they want you to include that in your resume? Or send your hours in a separate email?
Okay, because from what I remember, I think I was told the application was just so that they have you in the system. Then after you submit the application is when you begin to send your transcripts, essay, TEAS, etc. I haven't completed my essay, so I didn't know if I could go ahead and just submit ?the app then send that later?

Your application won't be reviewed until they received everything - your essay, TEAS, transcripts and application fee.
The place to upload is for your essay. I emailed my resume and letter of recommendation after my application was submitted. I'd write your essay, and send transcripts, fee Teas score so that they can review your application as I don't think they review until they have it all! Volunteer hours etc are additional but not required for the application. Good luck :)!
