George Brown or Centennial - RPN to BSCN Bridge for Sept 2021

Published

Hello everyone,

Anyone else applied the Bridge 2021 at George Brown or Centennial?

want to wait for offers with me?

I am wondering if I can hear from past students at either of these two school about their experiences?

When did offers come out? hard to get into? They are both listed as noncompetitive?

Did you like the program? I heard these schools are not really self-directed like McMaster programs, care to share your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I am also writing my cpnre in June. I doubt they are going to accept the temporary licence.

I am looking to apply to January 2022 for nippising. I am not sure if the application is open yet. have you applied? I also heard that you can finish fast in 3 years if you take more courses as opposed to the 5 years stated.

I called nippising today. There jan 22 applications are not open yet. They said it will open in September. Also, they mentioned that the distance learning program can only be done in 5-7 years. They do not offer extra courses as this program is designed for RPNs who are working. I thought I should inform you.

Hi there! Yep, called nipissing a month or so ago and they told me the same thing! I don’t mind, doing university prior to being an RPN I can’t wait to just work and have lots of full time work haha waiting for it to open sometime in September.

I sent an email to them last month and they responded saying if you have a previous degree you can transfer credits and after your first semester if you have a high GPA they can allow you to start taking 3 courses per semester as opposed to the normal 2 courses which will allow you finish faster. Anyways  5 years is not a bad time to complete the program because we will be working soo it all works out well.

could you let me know which number you called because the regular admissions number keeps going to voicemail.

yea definately, I don't mind and you finish you will have 4-5 years of work experience. are you already working with an affiliated organisation?

I sent my temp license into GB and centennial and was advised that because the temp license shows up that you are to practice with restrictions it doesn't count and I have to wait until I get my actual license. So stupid... ?

I got an email from Centennial telling me I did not get into the September programs but nothing for my application for January. GB told me I am still in the running and have to wait until they finish the application cycle; which tell me I am still waiting but honestly not very hopeful for September this year. I guess its either January or next September for me ?

Man I really wanted to go TO GB - fingers crossed I get in... I have heard some people getting offers over the Summer so we shall see (not holding my breath though)

My testing date is June 21, what about everyone else? what are you doing to study?

Hi there!! Ugh that’s too bad about centennial. Guess I will have to wait until next September too, Im in the same boat as you. My test date is June 11th!! Nervous and excited haha I spent a lot of time doing practice questions, I reviewed some pharmacology but not a lot since all the practice tests I’ve done there has only been a few pharm questions on there. I’ve honestly just been reading this Mosby’s CPNRE review book I bought from Amazon and it’s really thorough which is great. I have passed the yardstick predictor test with a 77% and I haven’t done much studying yet. I’ve been working as an RPN for a month or so with the temp license so I’m taking the week off now to study since my exam is a week Friday. I will do more intense studying starting tomorrow! I just need to review med-surg stuff and pediatrics. Doing the practice questions and reviewing rationales I find to be extremely helpful. GBC also gave us a membership to this website called nurseachieve where there is tons of review material there and over 2000 practice questions with detailed rationales. It’s a great resource I just haven’t had time to use it to its fullest ability yet haha how are you guys studying?!

I also got a rejection for September for centennial college am sure because we couldn't provide the CNO registration proof and all seats being filled. No updates for January or may 2022 yet so I am still hopeful. I will also be applying to nippising online for the January batch.

George brown said they still give offers up until august so hang in there, its still possible.

my testing date is 22 June and I have been doing lots of practice questions from the CPNRE prep guide 3rd-5th edition and also using Mosby comprehensive review

I heard from a few RPNs at work that the CPNRE they wrote in February is very very similar to the 5th edition prep guide. I hope that’s true for this round of the exam LOL I’m waiting to do the 5th prep guide until a few days before and hopefully it’s as similar as my coworkers said it is!

yes I heard something like that too from my professor, hopefully we get some similar questions. goodluck on your exams

So how many of us are waiting? 4?

I don't think any of us that have been chatting this thread got an offer yet.. did anyone?

I won't do nippissing (sp) because 5 to 7 years is to long for me. I didn't do that great on my casper so I guess I have to read up on better ways to answer the questions. I thought I did good too ?

I received an offer today.

Hope you all hear back from the bridging programs really soon.

I received an email a few days ago that I wasn't accepted into the Sept intake at Centennial.

Does anyone know where I can find the CPRNE prep guide 1, 2, or 3?

Happy studying!
