General studies degree?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am currently pursuing my BSN at a 4-year college but the community college that I started out sent me a letter saying I only need 3 credits to get an AA general studies degree. Would there be any benefit to finishing that?

You could then note two degrees on your resume instead of only one. Consider that it is always less beneficial to indicate that education was not completed, for example, listing that you attended X community college from XXXX - YYYY, but listing no degree in that box on the application. Once you get that degree, you can show that you graduated from that school and there should be no reason for anyone to bring it up during an interview (yes, they will even talk about stuff that is non-nursing related).

It is only one three unit course. Do an internet course and apply for the degree.

Yeah it's just a basic English class that I can do online. The only reason I went there was to do my basic classes for the nursing school I transferred to. But I just wasn't sure it doing that degree was beneficial if I'm getting my BSN anyways.

It is only beneficial in that it takes care of a "missing" item on your resume and applications.

If all you need is three affordable credits, I do not see the harm in earning this degree.
