Hi I am an Indian Nurse.

I have been working in India since 7 yrs now.

I have got a job in UK.I will be joining that hospital in next jan.

In India all my superior Nurses and my Nursing Suprientedent ask me to cut short my hair

and keep a clean shave.

I like to have a long hair and some beard to(though I keep it well treamed),

they always ask me to have a clean shave

and also to short hair.

Please let me know if how do they react to it?

Do they allow men to grow beard say french/goti/

or to have long hair upto neck.

Anyhow thanks in advance.

I have seen male nurses in the UK with beards, they kept tidy and well trimmed. Long hair well it will depend on how long but more than likely will need to be kept off the collar and tidy. The hospital should have a policy so why not contact the HR or ward manager and see what they have to say

I have either had a beard of goatee. Never had any problems.

Nope, no issue with beards or goatees at my place either, as long as they're well-kept. And if long hair isn't an issue for women, why should it be an issue for men, as long as it's pulled back?

Beard neat and trimmed. Any policy on hair would be the same for men or women here in the use, and should be based on hygiene.

From my perspecticive, A nurse's appearance should reflect competency and professionalism, and that would vary from place to place.

Not my hospital, but probably typical:

I've worn a goatee for a long time. There are a few males nurses here at the hospital I work at that have shoulder length hair as well as a beard.
