Where can I get...

Hello everyone---

I need to purchase a stethoscope for nursing school, and I was wondering if it is better to go ahead and make the investment now and get one that I will use after school, or if I should get a less expensive one. Also, are there any good online sources for stethoscopes.

One more question---I'm 6' tall, and I'm having a hard time finding scrubs that are long enough. Any suggestions.

I appreciate all responses.

Thank you,

Susan:)

I have found the less expensive ones to be just as good to get me through nursing school because for me my funds were tight.

As far as the scrubs, I would just check with the local uniform shop and maybe they could do a special order.

Hope this helps and good luck in nursing school.

Keep looking toward the dream that keeps coming back.

I like my littman stethoscope

I would go with Littman for the scope. You can some lower end models for around $30-50. Check online. As for scrubs, I have ordered from Jasco Uniform company. they are fairly cheap. I would recommend drawstring pants. You might also try ordering male pants, they might come long enough.

Love my Littman, too! :) In nursing school, it's good to have a good one if you can afford it, but hang on to it for dear life because many of the docs like to "borrow" the nurses stethoscopes instead of buying and bringing along their own when they make rounds. I hated everytime a doc pulled my steth from around my neck to use like it was a "right" of his. HA! The old cheapies need to spend some money on their own steth! Anway, the Littmans are excellent for detecting heart murmurs and other heart sounds, lung sounds, and blood pressure pulses really good. Best of everything to you in nursing school! Wear your steth proudly! :)

Thank you all for your posts.

Bonnie Blue---thank you for the suggestion to get men's pants. My nursing school uniform is navy pants and navy shirt, and I have only been able to find white pants in talls.

As for the stethoscope, I'm definitely getting a Littman. Everyone I have talked to has suggested that.

Thanks again.
