Because I'm graduating and getting pinned Friday night!!!!!! :mortarboard:I am so excited I can think of nothing else. I know I posted a similar post a couple of weeks ago but it's so close now and I'm both happy and sad. Now what? lol I'm going to miss my friends (and school, ironically) so much. I went back to college at 29 years old with 4 boys and a husband, along the way my 4 y/o son got leukemia and is in complete remission and now I am graduating and although I've thought this is the worst year I've ever had, it's really all I can ask for isn't it?
I did it. I actually accomplished one of my goals in life, one of the biggest goals. It's more than becoming a nurse to me....it's everything. Proving myself, setting an example to my children, pushing through all the bad no matter how difficult. I am proof that anything is possible if you want something bad enough. I am proud. Proud of my family who has supported me whole heartedly, my classmates who drudged through this with me, proud of myself.
A school friend of mine and I made a video/slideshow for our pinning and I think it's great. It's really all about friendship. If you'd like to see if you can check it it out on my blog. (Check my stats for the address).
Anyway..I just had to share my elation, trepidation and excitement.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. :Santa5:
Wow!! First of all congrats!! I too am one of "those" people that returned to school later in life...dragging a family along. I have one more year left, then I too will be making a post like yours. Brings goosebumps just thinking about it.
Your family must be supper proud....heck I'm proud of you and I don't even know you...lol
Good luck...don't forget us in cyberland...drop by and say hello.
Best wishes to you and your family!!!

soul shine loved your slide show! I have also been reading 2006 of your blog and it is seriously cracking me up! thanks so much for taking the time to do all of that, I have really enjoyed reading your journey the past couple of days. I start mine in January and just reading about how you began and that you thought 12/07 was so far away really made me smile, your a great writer if you ever give up nursing you will have another career.
Enjoy your graduation and good luck in your Future!

Yeah, you did it. I am happy for you! It seems like you have gone through a lot, but you kept your focus and you achieved what you wanted. That kind of attitude will serve you well in the future and it is the best kind of example for your kids and for other nursing students like me. Congratulations. Take care and best wishes, Jean
