So a teacher that is 3 weeks behind on content gets a pass. This program is rediculous and a joke. Literally the whole class had to retake a test for Test 2, when I say all 15 of us I'm not exaggerating! Then for test 3, 7 of us still didn't pass! The teacher is never available to talk to after class , Ever!!! The teacher reviews by rewording questions from the test paper! She has too since she is 3 weeks behind and only giving us less than 1 week to review for the comprehensive final!! A few of us not passing talked the old pharmacology teacher and other classmates went and told the new and current pharm teacher and made her mad! So now it's horrible! She has literally been evaluated for the last 4 weeks! Even my clinical teacher came to me to ask what's going on because the teacher not only teaches pharmacology but teaches community (2nd level) and half the people in that class is failing. I've been to this pharm teacher several times and had her approve my study guide twice and still not passed! I even stayed after class before and she was talking bad to us about her 2nd level students!! She said that she would never write recommendation letters and would bad mouth them because she has been a nurse for over 30 years and knows plenty of high level people and is mad at her students for not "respecting" her and talking bad about her. All she does is read word from word on the PowerPoint and when asked about anything she tell you to google or asks what does your book say. It's rediculous at this point and wasted time and money!!! We all have something going on in our lives! She complains about her daughter is sick , she caught the flu , blah blah blah!! She cannot answer simple questions and only respects students that kiss her butt which I will not!! She bad mouths students that are repeating the classes and it's taking it to far! I have to vent here because our director will do nothing!!! I mean I know nursing school is self teaching and learning but when you spend the whole day 5 days a week in class you would want to be learning something to! If I have to google questions I can do that at home!!! Our director said there were problems with students and instructors in the past at this school and I see why!! I get nursing is "hard" and pharm is but I've repeated classes for prerequisites before and every other class I have scored well above a 77% except this one! It's not fair she has her "teaching" schedule behind 3 weeks by the syllabus and we have less than a week to study for comprehensive final and have to cram material because she has let us get behind and wants to put literally 9 chapters on a test at a time! Rediculous!!

Oh Wow, maybe nursing isn't the best career choice for you.

Im going to buck the common theme of "suck it up" here and agree with you. (let me go back and re-read the OP) No, Nursing school is hard, but 3 weeks behind, whole classes failing tests, reading off the syllabus, and telling you to 'go look it up' in response to questions is just poor teaching. Online and Hybrids you have to self-study (ok, actually all of them) but if you sitting in class "all day 5 days a week" in a school you pay for, and still getting poor results, something is wrong with that class. I would suggest you ALL go to the director and voice your concerns, and find out who regulates the schools in you state, If the director doesn't seem concerned, dropping that name may get a little more attention.

Oh wow, I made it into nursing school and nobody is gonna get me out of it!!!!!!!!! Why are nurses so rude all over? Making the grade doesn't take away the crappy attitude. I've worked as a tech and it was never the clients but always drama between nurses.

I agree, noone is going to get you out of nursing school. Students who don't make it through nursing school do it all by themselves. Study hard, stay ahead of the course outline if you can, be flexible even if you have instructors that you aren't happy with, because in the end they will give you the final grade.

You've gotten replies from some very wise members. However I'm with you on this one. There is a happy medium between spoon-feeding all information and independent study. You're paying good money -- both for THIS class and every subsequent class that requires a working knowledge of pharm.

I work with a CNA who feels the need to talk about how busy she is, EVERY time you delegate a task. Well if she didn't waste all that time complaining, she wouldn't be so busy! So yeah... if you have time to gossip, trash talk, or talk about anything unrelated to school, why not use that time to, I dunno... teach?

I would also expect her to answer my questions. It's not like Google is a trade secret that students don't know about. And I DIDN'T ask questions that could be easily looked up -- I asked questions about the things that I still didn't understand AFTER studying.

Do you read the content before you go to class? It sounds that she may be eating her young, very passive-aggressive.

Focus on your chance of passing, unfortunately nursing school has military style type atmosphere, it's not very 'fun'. You've paid your money, if you aren't passing and you normally pass your classes, maybe go to the director and ask for your money back or another instructor.
